In the mountains of Vietnam, architect Chu Văn Đông recently completed a project for a small wooden hut with a glass wall in the middle of a rural setting. It is a tourist micro-hut that can provide accommodation for a maximum of two people. The small gable house has a glazed facade - a glass wall that offers a beautiful view of the surrounding natural landscape. According to the architect's master plan, this wooden hut was intended to be just one of several identical huts in the immediate vicinity. You can find out more about the “Forest House” project in the article.
The idea behind the project was to create a small accommodation for tourists that is easy, quick and inexpensive to build. That's why no expensive materials were used in the construction of the hut. The facade is made entirely of wood, with only oneGlazed outer wallis. Inside, the walls and ceiling are also clad in wood and create a pleasant feeling of living. The glass wall is the highlight of the cabin's design and serves as the largest source of daylight. It also offers a beautiful view of the green, hilly surroundings.
The small wooden hut was built on Pilotis - onevisible pillar construction, which keeps the house “in the air”. This construction method is a typical feature of modern architecture and is perfect for buildings on slopes.
Despite the small living space of only 12 m², the small wooden hut has everything you need for an overnight stay: two beds, sockets, air conditioning for the summer months and a stove for heating in the winter. A small bathroom with shower and toilet is also available. In the “garden” behind the hut there is a little piece of luxury - a whirlpool for relaxation after long hikes in the forest.
The “Forest house” project was intended to serve as inspiration for other residential construction projects with simple construction and low construction costs.
