The week starts with another interesting interior design project that showcases a mix of Scandinavian simplicity and modern furniture. The apartment is located in downtown Vancouver, Canada and was completely redesigned in 2015. If you want to follow the trends for “open living” and “Scandinavian furnishings”, you can get some wonderful ideas from this interior design.
The renovation andFurnishing of the apartmentwere entirely completed by talented designer Gaile Guevara in collaboration with a team of Laura Melling, Foojan Kasravi and Rebecca Raymond. The spacious 84 square meter apartment features a lot of modern and stylish details, while also having amazing views from the 11th floor of the building. The apartment consists of a bedroom, 2 bathrooms, a study, a balcony and a large living, cooking and dining area.
The color palette and style represent a mix of contemporary andScandinavian elementsThe entire living space has simple yet elegant furnishings, decoration and interior design. The large windows allow a lot of daylight to flow into the room, which visually enlarges it even more.
The kitchen is a light and airy area where all unnecessary details are spared and an effortless and natural color palette of matt white and light wood dominates. The kitchen island offers additional storage space when cooking and as a place for breakfast.
Furniture in the living room and bedroom is kept in a light gray color. A few elements in blue add colorful accents to the otherwise neutral color scheme. The whole room not only looks cozy and inviting, but also aesthetically pleasing and calming.
Light wood is used for many elements - flooring, furniture, even wall paneling behind the bed in the bedroom and behind the sofa in the living area. There are also a few small white flower pots on the wall as decoration.
The designer also listed a few of the elements that can be seen in the apartment on his website. It's a really nice and helpful for anyone who is interested in the details as much as the overall interior design.
