Garage on the ground floor stages impressive collection of cars: a dream house for car lovers

The architecture studio Matt Fajkus Architecture built this house in Austin, Texas for a real car and architectural lover. It is a two -story single -family house, the ground floor of which is designed like a car dealership. There the impressive collection of cars of the homeowner is successfully staged. However, the garage on the ground floor is not the only one that impresses with the design of the house. The upper floor of the house is built like a cantilever that floats six meters above the driveway thanks to the large steel girders. This creates a covered carport that can protect the cars from rain.

The architects called the spectacular house. The entire ground floor was designed as a showroom for the generous car collection of the Texas collector. In the spacious garage you can find fascinating classic cars that can be admired from the upper floor.

However, the garage on the ground floor is not just aboutExhibition of hub vehiclesused. It has a lifting platform and an area where the collector can tune or repair his cars.

The living rooms are on the upper floor, directly above the car collection. A light -flooded staircase with a minimalist design combines the two levels of the house. The black handrail is in line with the window frames, whereas the wood stairs made of wood creates a homely feeling.

The second floor is designed as if the rooms floated over the garage on the ground floor. At the top of the stairs there is a large glass partition with a black frame, which offers a view of the car collection.

The living space is with oneOpen living conceptDesigned and consists of living area and kitchen with a large kitchen island. An accent wall with wooden cladding ensures a homely atmosphere in the otherwise white interior.

Right next to the living area there is a spacious terrace with a large pergola in black.Floor -deep sliding doors made of glassenable a seamless transition between inside and outside and thus connect the house to the outdoor area.

A narrow hallway next to the kitchen leads to a comfortably designed home office with floor, walls and ceiling made of wood. The bathroom follows, which has a monochrome design in white and gray. Daylight flows through a roof window above the shower area, which is designed with structured wall panels in white.

At the end of the hall is the bedroom, which is positioned in the cantilevered part of the house. Here the floor -to -ceiling windows open a view of the street and bathe the room in daylight.
