Floor plan of the wellness area
The owner of this two-story house is a football player of the Russian national team. Of course, the interior in all rooms is very modern and will absolutely delight any design fan, but the wellness area is the real deal!
The spa area is located on the ground floor and has a total size of 15 square meters. It includes a large whirlpool, a walk-in shower and a small sauna. There is also enough space to set up a massage table for post-workout recovery if needed.
In the first planning phase, all technical aspects for a wellness area were taken into account. Underfloor heating ensures a warm floor that feels comfortable barefoot.
A television was installed behind a waterproof glass pane between the whirlpool and the sauna
The highlight of the interior design is the glass panel between the shower room and the sauna, where a waterproof television is installed. The television and sauna can be controlled remotely via a smartphone. “The glass pane made it possible to fit the electrical appliances organically into the space and architecture,” explains project manager Anton Varzin.
Canadian cedar and abachi wood in the sauna
Two types of wood were used in the interior design of the sauna: Canadian cedar, which tolerates moisture and direct contact with water well, and heat-treated abachi wood. This African softwood is characterized by low thermal conductivity and feels very pleasant on the body. For this reason, the rows of seats and the floor were made of abachi wood.
Wellness oasis with whirlpool bathtub and walk-in shower
While everything in the sauna is lined with natural materials, ceramic tiles with a wood look were used in the shower room. This helped to stylistically connect the two spaces and preserve the functionality of the wet areas.
Also ensure a slim, minimalist lookthe rain showerand the linear shower drain. With a tile insert, the shower channel looks invisible. A wall niche with glass shelves serves as practical storage space.
The glass wall of the walk-in shower does not have a disruptive effect, but rather supports the visual unity and width of the room. A bench was also placed in front of the whirlpool to make it easier to get in and avoid unnecessary hooks for towels and bathrobes.
Wall niches as practical storage space
There is a garage next to the wellness area. The thickness of the wall made it possible to install several niches, both on the garage side and on the bathroom side. Shelves for bathrobes and other shower accessories were placed in the niches.
The two-story house has a total of three bathrooms. There is a guest bathroom near the wellness oasis, which allows convenient use of the spa area.
