This secret ingredient makes your cookies particularly fluffy

But sometimes the cookie dough can quickly become too stiff - but we'll show you howSecret ingredienthow your Christmas cookies stay nice and fluffy.

This is the secret ingredient for fluffy cookies

DieThe secret ingredient is: mineral water! A small sip of the carbonated water makes cookie dough so much fluffier because the carbonic acid it contains loosens the dough and forms small air bubbles. These air bubbles ensure that the dough rises better during baking and has a lighter, airier consistency.

Here is a recipe for particularly fluffy Christmas cookies:

  • ½ Banana
  • 100g coconut oil
  • 50 g maple syrup
  • 200 g spelled wholemeal flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 TL Turmeric
  • 1 pinch of cardamom
  • 1 pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 EL Mineralwasser (z.B. Plose Medium)
  • light and dark sesame seeds
  1. Preheat the oven to 175 °C and line two trays with baking paper.
  2. Peel the banana and puree it with coconut oil and maple syrup.
  3. Add wholemeal spelled flour, baking powder, spices and mineral water and mix everything into a homogeneous dough.
  4. Form the dough into a roll, divide into 20 pieces and form into small balls. Spread these on both trays leaving plenty of space between them and press flat with a fork.
  5. Sprinkle the sesame seeds over the cookies and place the trays in the oven one at a time for 10-15 minutes until the cookies are golden brown.
