However, when Simba is old enough to become king himself, he forged a plan, as he can still become the heir to the throne, as his father had intended for him. Director Jon Favreau, who among other things for the first twoIron Man-Films were responsible, with the remake ofThe king of the lionsperformed a whole work. It has succeeded in narratively extremely careful, but technically full height.

Actress Emma Stone is beyond any doubt per se-and not only since her Oscar profit forPoor Thingslast year. In this respect it was already to be assumed that they also inCruellawould convince a prequel about the cult villain cruella de vil from the animated film101 DalmatianFrom 1961. And that's what it's about: The talented designer Estella (Emma Stone) dreams of becoming a big fashion designer - but because she was not born with a golden spoon in the mouth, she does not get into the higher circles. Instead, she commits smaller crimes and takes every opportunity to dive into the world of the rich every now and then - until an emerging rock star recognizes her talent and offers her the chance to tailor an outfit - which causes Estella to come to the dog. A really opulent real film with lots of ideas and a stylish punk habitus that is a lot of fun.

InThe beautiful and the beastplays Emma Watson Belle. Together with her father Maurice (Kevin Kline), she leads a rather tranquil life in a small village and also has a persistent admirer with the self -loving Schönling Gaston (Luke Evans). But Belle's life suddenly changes when her father is caught by the beast during a trip (Dan Stevens), which deports him to his castle. You have to know that the beast was once a selfish prince who was occupied with a curse until he succeeds in being loved by someone despite his repulsive appearance. And then - you suspect it - Belle comes into play, which instead of her father goes into the capacity of the beast. Admittedly, the fact that sung in films like this is constantly sung (musical), annoys a little and has a bit grueling in the long run. But if you can live with it, you have to say thatThe beautiful and the beastQuite successful and can come up with many magical moments.

If you think of the real film adaptation of the cartoon published in 1989that in the fairy taleThe little mermaidBased by Hans Christian Andersen, you first noticed the silly Eklat, who came up before the film was released in 2023. Because the main role in it plays the Afro-American singer and actress, and that Arielle was to be played by a POC was an incredible thorn in the side of many racists at the time. But we come to the essentials: the content and quality of the film. The focus is on the mermaid Arielle (said Halle Bailey), the idiosyncratic daughter of King Triton (Javier Bardem), who has always felt to the world of people, which is (of course) strictly forbidden. When a ship threatens to sink, Arielle saves the Prince Eric (Jonah Andre Hauer-King) and falls in love with him-and he, especially in her wonderful voice. Arielle then asks the sea witch Ursula (Melissa McCarthy) to give her legs. The witch agrees, but wants to have her voice in return - but not recognized Eric Arielle. You see: it's tricky. At 134 minutes the remake was a bit long, but thanks to great lead actors and the colorful setting, the real film can even exceed the animated original in some places.

The cartoonMulanFrom 1998, which is based freely on motifs of Hua Mulan's Chinese ballad, has not really taken in Germany. Understandable, at Disney you probably had the Asian audience in his sights. It is thatEven today, still a discovery, also for adults - or you just swing to the real adaptation of the fabric from 2020. And that's what it's about: to protect China from enemies from the north, the emperor (Jet Li) wants to build a huge army for which every family has to provide a man. One of them is the father of young Mulan (Yifei Liu). However, her father is sick and weak. He would therefore not survive the war on certainty. So mulan dresses up as a man and instead moves to war.Mulanis a very gripping heroic epic that also fits perfectly into the here and now in times of global upgrading and the associated discussion about conscription. Only that-S deposits could have been used a little more often.

What many have not noticed: The real filming of the cartoon Aladdin was shot from none other than the British cult director Guy Ritchie. The fantasy musical is accordingly turbulent. The plot should be largely known, but here again for everyone who has forgotten it: Aladdin (Mena Massoud) is a street thief and roams with his every dayAbu through the city in search of prey. The Northern Irish actor and director Kenneth Branagh has a soft spot for classic fabrics:Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein,Hamlet,Mord im Orient Expressand also in 2015Cinderella(In Germany the fairy tale is more known under the titleCinderella). The Disney classic dates from 1950, so it was time to give the fabric a contemporary robe through a real film-and Kenneth Branagh was quite successful. His staged fairy tale film can score with two grandiose main actresses with great show values, lots of wit and with Lily James as Cinderella and Cate Blanchett as Lady Tremaine. Naturally, the kitsch factor is also large, but that is always part of Disney films, right?
