If thegives an Italian restaurant one star and says it's a must for fans of Italian cuisine, you can be sure you'll have a pasta you'll never forget. The restaurantEichhalde, with chef Federico Campolattano, serves puristic produce cuisine that focuses on the best and finest flavors of Italy. This is evident in dishes such as linguine with porcini mushrooms and smoked herb sauce or the absolute signature dish: Pulpo and its Neapolitan history.

3. Acetaia – Munich

TheAcetatein Munich-Neuhausen has stood for classic Italian cuisine in an upscale style since 1999. The elegant Art Nouveau ambience with mosaic floors and glass front immediately exudes Italian joie de vivre. The menu combines traditional Italian dishes with creative interpretations and an excellent selection of renowned wines. By the way, the name comes from Aceto Balsamico – for many the black gold of Italy. Our recommendation: try everything that has to do with pasta and fish.

4. MINE – Berlin

The stylish one offers modern Italian cuisine with international and seasonal influencesMINERestaurant in. Here you get everything you expect from an Italian restaurant in 2024: family atmosphere, modern interior, purist dishes with contemporary interpretations and excellent wine. The building near the Ku'damm once housed the smallest bar in Berlin. Our tip: Visit the restaurant as a couple and order the “Greatest Hits” menu – this is how the cuisine shows off its best side.

5. Carmelo Greco – Frankfurt

In the elegant ambience ofCarmelo Greco, with gray tones and gold accents, you can enjoy both a meat and fish tasting menu and the vegetarian menu “Verdura”. The restaurant is known throughout Germany for its excellent Italian cuisine and was awarded a Michelin star for it. Here, too, you should definitely request the wine list - there are still surprises here, even for absolute wine professionals.

6. Watercolor – München

Munich again - perhaps not a coincidence, after all it is the southernmost major city in Germany and the closest to Italy. The Acquarello with chef Mario Gamba is an absolute institution in the city. Italian dishes have been served here in a classic French style since 1994. Don't expect the most modern menu; in theWatercolouris it aboutand real heartfelt cuisine – and you can taste it on every fork. Gamba and his team have held a Michelin star since 2020.

7. The Chalice – Berlin
