No matter how you celebrate. And we've really tried a lot of things:, private cooking evening, club night,, you name it. Something always goes wrong. Or doesn't feel quite as special as it should feel. Because we want to do things differently this year, we asked around and thought about it.how the New Year's Eve party finally succeeds - and what we have to do for it.
Celebrate New Year's Eve: 6 tips on how to finally have a successful New Year's Eve party
Somehow our entrance sounds like we've never had a nice one beforecelebrated. That's nonsense, of course. But don't you know that? You often expect more from the evening than it actually has to offer. That doesn't necessarily have to be worse. But the ideas and expectations are never quite fulfilled. And that's exactly where the problem begins. Therefore: six tips on how to finally have a successful New Year's Eve party.
1. Tip: Take out the pressure
What we did in the last few paragraphs is exactly what you shouldn't do when you finallywant to spend. And build up pressure. If you feel the urge on New Year's Eve to have the craziest party or simply spend the most beautiful evening of the year, then it usually doesn't work. So our first tip is to take the pressure off first. Of course, this is easier said than done. From October onwards the question arises as to what you are planning for New Year's Eve, especially at the end of the year everything revolves around the ominous evening with which you celebrate the old year and welcome the new one. New Year's Eve is simply a theme. Just like at Christmas, this of course raises a lot of expectations and demands are placed on the evening. The difference is that the holidays are usually more tied to conventions and traditions and follow a certain pattern. Things often look different on New Year's Eve. What I mean is: It's completely normal and understandable that pressure builds up. This makes it all the more important to take a little pressure off of the situation and approach the whole topic in a more relaxed manner.
2nd tip: Learn lessons from previous years
Something seems to have gone awry at your New Year's Eve party in recent years. Otherwise you probably wouldn't read this article so carefully (which I hope you do!). That means: There were things that bothered you. Either it was the restaurant that was way too full, the club bill that was too expensive, or that it was too boring and lackluster, something wasn't right for you. Analyze what went wrong in recent years – and learn from it. Do you want more action? Then make sure of it. Do you want a more intimate celebration in a small circle? Then arrange them. Doing things just because you think you have to do them on New Year's Eve is nonsense. And it's also stupid who makes the same mistakes again.
Tip 3: Free yourself from expectations
This tip on how to finally have a successful New Year's Eve party goes hand in hand with the previous tips and affects that. Unfulfilled expectations are often the reason why the New Year's Eve party is a flop, at least in one's own perception, even though it actually wasn't. First of all, you should accept that not everything will be perfect on New Year's Eve, and that's completely okay. Because we all know that unforeseen and unplanned events can often lead to the best memories. In itself, it is of course completely fine and important to roughly plan the evening. But don't set unrealistic goals. Avoid having too high expectations of the party, the people, or how the evening will go. Realistic expectations prevent disappointment and allow you to accept things as they come. It might not be the craziest party of the year. Maybe everything doesn't go according to plan. So what? You can still have fun. Instead of thinking about what the party should be like or what might happen next year, focus on the moment. The motto is to enjoy and let go instead of racking your brains. It is extremely important to recognize and accept that you cannot control everything. What you can control is your attitude. A positive mindset helps. And also to share your – realistic – expectations with others so that you are all on the same page when you celebrate together.
Tip 4: Think about what you're up for
A successful New Year's Eve party only works if you do what you really want to do. So consider whether you really feel like stumbling into a crowded club after midnight just because you feel like you have to. If so: everything is fine. If not: leave it! If you want a cozy evening, you should spend it the same way. There are no rules as to what a successful New Year's Eve party has to look like. And if you do, then fuck'em. game night,or even a New Year's Eve alone where you go to bed before midnight? Everything possible. It's your evening. So design it the way you want!
Tip 5: Think about how to organize the evening
Once you have decided on the general framework for your New Year's Eve party, go into the details so that the evening is stress-free and enjoyable for everyone involved. As already explained with the point about expectation management, you can't plan everything. And that's a good thing. But what you can plan for are topics like: What do we eat? What are we drinking? What do we do? If you feel like standing in the kitchen for hours and looking after your guestsTo do magic, do it. But be aware that this can also mean stress. And making the evening as stress-free as possible is one of the most important goals to ensure that the New Year's Eve party is a success this year. Here too, it helps to communicate with the people you are celebrating with. Also when it comes to the organization of the evening. Because of course: everything can change. But if, for example, you are thinking about where you would like to see the fireworks, clarify this in advance so that everyone is happy with the plan. If you want to move on, do that too. But get tickets now and realize that New Year's Eve can be crowded and expensive. You should make peace with this beforehand.
Tip 6: Don't compare with others
The last tip we would like to give you is that you should not compare yourself with other people, especially on New Year's Eve. You do yours, the others do theirs, quite simply. You spend the New Year's Eve party however you want, whether it conforms to the conventions (there aren't any anyway) or not. Sure, just in time for December 31st, a real firework of pictures and videos of supposedly glamorous and exuberant New Year's Eve parties erupts on social media. You can get it quicklyand thinks that your own evening is a real failure in comparison. But the question arises as to whether the others are really having as much fun as you want to show to the outside world and what that actually has to do with you. Namely, nothing at all. As long as you have a nice evening - and hopefully you will finally have that this year thanks to our tips - everything is fine. If you can't separate the two well, just avoid social media around New Year's Eve. You won't miss anything anyway. And you don't have time for that anyway. You're busy with your successful New Year's Eve party.
