What in the second part of the seasonWhat happens, who proposes to whom and who sets off into everyday life together after their romantic holiday in Crete, you can read here.
If there is one rule when it comes to the dating show “Love is Blind” on Netflix, it is: no season without it. And that's exactly what six couples are heading for in the German version of the reality dating series.
In episode 5, the following couples go on a romantic vacationbroken open:
- Hanni and Daniel
- Alina and Iliad
- Shella und Pascal
- Shila and Tolga
- Jen and Marcel
Be careful, massive spoilers for episodes 5-8 of “Love is Blind: Germany” follow from here!
And otherwise? Otherwise they will meet – spoilers! Surprise! – Sally and Medina again. Yes, exactly – the two who had the same Bible quotes delivered to each other independently of each other. How romantic! The end of their pod relationship was sudden: Sally left Medina because she had imagined it (and him too?) differently. In all of these couples, the woman was given onedone, she said “yes”, and the two were then allowed to see each other for the first time in real life, without a wall, and start a life together outside of the pods. But from the beginning.
This happens in episodes 5-8 of “Love is Blind: Germany”
How should you imagine that? You get to know someone on the other side of a wall - just through conversations, without ever actually coming face to face? Since love is supposedly blind, that should be enough. You think so. And because you are in this-Experiment “Love is Blind” in front of a global Netflix audience If you fall in love with a person on the other side of a wall, you will also get married: 30 days lie between the first visual contact and the wedding. Can this work well? And how are the individual couples doing in everyday life?
“Love is Blind: Germany”, episodes 5-8: Hanni and Daniel
Hanni and Daniel were the first to get engaged in “Love is Blind: Germany”. In Crete the two were more than happy, they celebrated their feelings for each other openly and honestly. A match made in heaven in a “Love is Blind” pod?
Their relationship with the outcome “marriage in under 30 days” is important to both of them, but everyday life catches up with the two lovebirds faster than one could imagine: Hanni, who has never said “I love you,” wants more time to spend her lifefuture husbandGetting to know Daniel – while he is busily packing the wedding almonds according to Italian custom. And the extra time? Hanni doesn't have that. Not when she's putting away the wardrobe in the shared apartment (and has to listen to some strange comments about her outfits from Daniel), not when she's talking about her childhood with divorced parents at the kitchen table and crying.
But of course there is a silver lining on the horizon: Daniel's parents lovingly accept the insecure Hanni into their clan - and after a short break, Hanni is pretty sure: This marriage with Daniel has a future. So nothing stands in the way of the two getting married in “Love is Blind: Germany”.
Daniel and Hanni are very much in love on “Love is Blind: Germany”.
Netflix“Love is Blind: Germany”, episodes 5-8: Alina and Ilias
Oh, Iliad. Ilias, Ilias, Ilias… Ilias chose Alina in the “Love is Blind” pods. But somehow his thoughts in the series still revolve around Hanni, with whom he also had promising dates, but who chose Daniel. At the organized meetings of all participants, there is more than one intimate moment between Ilias and Daniel's fiancée - much to the chagrin of Alina and Daniel.
But Alina wouldn't be Alina if she didn't walk that fine line between laissez-faire andcould balance. And no, she is by no means jealous, but makes it clear to Ilias once and for all what he has in her - and that Hanni has not chosen him and is not giving him false hopes.
And then? Then these two come into everyday life:, via Zoom and in real life, eating together, living together. But is that enough to marry someone virtually unknown after just 30 days? What's more, since both of them are at home at the other end of the republic, he in Schleswig-Holstein and she in Bavaria? However, to quote the mothers of the two: “You, Alina/Ilias, haven’t shone like this for a long time.” Well hopefully the moms are right, as usual. Either way: the wedding guests are invited, the wedding dress fits.
Are happy on Crete and in everyday life at “Love is Blind”: Alina and Ilias
Netflix“Love is Blind: Germany”, episodes 5-8: Shella and Pascal
Oh dear. Shella and Pascal have many similarities in “Love is Blind: Germany” – one of which is that they are a bit shy. And that makes their love story on Crete difficult - pool parties and romantic picnics don't help anyone here, because Shella wants more commitment from Pascal, who doesn't seem to be quite sure about his feelings yet.
Big spoiler: The thing with Shella and Pascal doesn't work. The two ended their “Love is Blind” time together in Crete and then went their separate ways. Shella regrets the break because she had budding feelings for Pascal and could have imagined that real love could have arisen from it. But Pascal? Pascal admitted to Shella and also to himself that he was simply not in love - but got along with Shella like friends. And you can't build a marriage on that.
That's it: Pascal and Shella go their separate ways after their vacation in Crete in “Love is Blind”.
Netflix“Love is Blind: Germany”, episodes 5-8: Shila and Tolga
Shila and Tolga's relationship is even more dramatic than that of Shella and Pascal: as has already been announced, the two actually have nothing more to say to each other on their romantic vacation in Crete. So: nada.
Tolga talks about his feelings (okay, that's a novelty!) for Shila and the worry that they might become less because, after all, "she's a complete stranger." Um, as a viewer, you don't know exactly how you could explain to him that “Love is Blind” doesn't accompany its candidates for years as they build and master a relationship together. Well, so be it.
At some point in Crete, Tolga no longer feels anything, Shila no longer says anything - the two of them no longer have anything that they can find in each other or that connects them. It becomes clear to Shila and Tolga that the pods can make a lot of things easier and that everyday life, suddenly being with another person 24/7, is not for everyone. Love experiment: unfortunately failed.
The “Love is Blind” experiment is over for Shila and Tolga in Crete.
Netflix“Love is Blind: Germany”, episodes 5-8: Jen and Marcel
In the case of Jen and Marcel, opposites attract – right? While Jen is lively, laughs a lot, can speak quickly and a lot, Marcel is the introverted, spiritual and thoughtful type who not only smokes out the apartment but also his fiancée when he moves in. This may seem strange to some viewers, but it is by no means a reason to call off a wedding.
What can you say... The two of them make a real effort, but as the new episodes progress they come to a common denominator less and less often. They both meditate, but differently. Also not that easy: the visit to Marcel's shared apartment, where Jen can find out more about her fiancé from his two roommates.
The longer “Love is Blind: Germany” runs, the more inharmonious the relationship between the former lovebirds becomes. People complain or, even worse, don't talk at all. And that despite the fact that we so often agree. What a shame! Or, according to Rio Reiser: For Jen it's 2.30 p.m. and for Marcel it's half past two.
Will Marcel get to know Jen's mom? We won't tell!
Jen and Marcel are the most opposite couple in “Love is Blind: Germany”.
