Anne Hathaway will play bestselling thriller author Verity Crawford, who is unable to finish the remaining books in her series after a "mysterious accident." Her husband Jeremy recruits young Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer on the verge of financial ruin, to step in and finish Verity's books for her. To make things easier, she also moves into the Crawfords' villa (and also falls for the best-selling author's husband). But of course not everything is as it seems.
When Ashleigh arrives at the Crawford estate, she discovers a dark secret and an unfinished manuscript that reveals shocking revelations about the family's past. As she gets to know Verity's husband and young son, Crew, the young author begins to wonder what kind of woman Verity was - and whether the manuscript is a work of fiction or something much darker.
