In advance in the video: Recipe for quick apple turnovers
These little apple and quark cakes are a poem. Click here for the simple quick recipe.
I've had an air fryer since last year - and even though I was skeptical at first, I'm now completely convinced of the device. Because no, an oven is not exactly the same as an air fryer. On the one hand, an air fryer does not have to preheat, which saves energy. In addition, fries, potatoes, vegetables, etc. become a lot crispier than in the oven and all without adding any fat.
Not only can you make hearty dishes with this practical household appliance, you can also use it for baking - for example to conjure up these juicy apple and quark thalers.
Recipe for quick apple thalers from the air fryer
Ingredients (for 6 pieces):
- 1 apple
- 1 egg (size M)
- 120 g low-fat quark
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 30g sugar
- 30 g wheat flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
Preparation:
1. Wash the apple, cut it into slices and remove the core (it's super easy with this oneApple corer from Amazon*)
2. Mix the egg with low-fat quark, vanilla sugar and sugar well in a bowl. Add baking powder and flour and mix everything into a smooth dough. Add a splash of sparkling water if it gets too thick.
3. Dip the apple slices into the batter one at a time until they are completely covered.
4. Then place the coins on an Airfryer baking paper insert (you can get it here on Amazon*) place and bake at 180 degrees for 12 minutes. Depending on the Airfryer model, around four pieces fit in a basket. Turn carefully halfway through.
5. Optional: Turn the still warm apple thalers in cinnamon and sugar or serve with vanilla sauce.
With these ingredients (without cinnamon and sugar or vanilla sauce) there is one apple quark thaler per piece (for 6 pieces).78 calories. If you use a sugar substitute in the dough instead of vanilla sugar and sugar, the calories will be reduced accordingly.
