There are still a few days until Christmas, but I find that the time until then usually flies by. And between buying presents and putting up the Christmas tree, a festive Christmas dinner also needs to be planned.

Also an eye-catcher:

If you are looking for inspiration for a super simple and quick dessert or a Christmas snack, our sweet fir trees made from puff pastry are just the thing. With a little powdered sugar and a small cinnamon star on the top, the crispy chocolate skewers look magically Christmassy.

Quick recipe for sweet Christmas tree skewers

We use chocolate spread for our puff pastry Christmas trees, which makes the sweet skewers the easiest and quickest - and chocolate always works! You can also spread the puff pastry with a cinnamon, sugar and butter mixture, for example.

Ingredients for 6-8 pieces:

  • 1 roll of puff pastry from the refrigerated shelf
  • Chocolate spread
  • 1 No

Optional

  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • 6-8 Zimtsters

And this is how easy it is to make Christmas snacks:

1. Open the oven200 degrees top/bottom heatPreheat and line a tray with baking paper.

2. Roll out the puff pastry and spread the chocolate cream evenly from the short side to the middle.

3. Now fold the puff pastry in half so that the uncoated side covers the chocolate half. Press lightly.

4. Then cut the dough into strips approx. 1.5-2 cm wide with a knife. Now skewer each strip with a kebab skewer (you can get it here on Amazon*) in waves so that the strip of dough becomes narrower from bottom to top and is reminiscent of a Christmas tree.

5. Place the Christmas tree skewers on the baking tray and brush them with a little beaten egg. Then for approx.10-15 minutesBake in the oven until golden brown.

6. Then let the trees cool thoroughly and dust them with powdered sugar. Optionally, you can put a cinnamon star on the top.

Of course, the puff pastry Christmas trees also work great in a savory version - perfect as delicious finger food for the next Christmas party..
