Cauliflower nuggets in the beer dough: you have never eaten the vegetables so tasty

These vegetarian nuggets made of cauliflower convince even die-hard finger food fans! We'll tell you the recipe.

I have to be honest: cauliflower is not exactly my favorite vegetable. In the supermarket I prefer to use broccoli, because cauliflower and I ... sometimes it tastes good, unfortunately not at all.

Recipe for fried cauliflower nuggets

If you like, you can of course season your nuggets even more intensely. Simply add a pinch of chilli flakes to the beer dough or try a variant with a curry powder - definitely tastes really good too rice and a sharp sauce!

Ingredients for approx. 4 portions:

  • 1 large, fresh cauliflower
  • 150 g Mehl
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 TL paprika powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 TL nutmeg, grated
  • 1 Prise Pfeffer
  • 300 ml of beer
  • Oil for baking
  • Flour to roll

And so the preparation succeeds:

1. First clean the cauliflower, free from the stalk and divide it into florets.

2. Mix flour, salt, pepper, baking powder, paprika powder and nutmeg in a large bowl. Slowly pour in the beer and stir the whole thing well so that a smooth dough is created. Set aside and let go for about 5 minutes.

3. In the meantime, pour more flour into a deep plate.

4. Heat a large pot with vegetable oil. Attention: Please always proceed carefully when dealing with hot oil. To check whether the oil has the right temperature, simply flood a wooden cooking spoon. When air bubbles climb up, it's time to fry.

5. For this purpose, first roll the cauliflower florets in flour, then put them in the beer dough and completely cover it. Bake golden brown in the hot fat for about 5 minutes. It is best always fried small portions of 4 to 5 nuggets.
