Yay, the Christmas market season is here! We were particularly impressed by the delicious fried mushrooms with garlic sauce. But you can also easily make them yourself at home. We'll tell you the recipe so that it tastes like it's from the Christmas market.
During the dark season, Christmas markets enchant cities and transform them into a sea of lights, scents and delicacies. Among the many culinary temptations, one classic stands out in particular: mushrooms with garlic sauce.
We'll tell you how you can bring the magic of the Christmas market into your own kitchen with a very simple recipe. Because these hearty mushrooms are just the thing when you come back from the cold into the warm. And of course the typical garlic sauce shouldn't be missing either.
Recipe for mushrooms with hearty garlic sauce
Our mouths are watering... The delicious mushrooms are perfect as a quick snack, you can serve them with fresh bread, for example, but they are also perfect as a side dish and provide a little variety on the dinner table.
Ingredients for approx. 2 servings:
- 500 g small mushrooms
- 1 small onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- Salt and pepper
- 1 THE BUTTER
- 1 EL Kill
- 1.5 tsp paprika powder, sweet
- 1 tbsp chives, chopped
For the garlic sauce
- 200 g Crème fraîche
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 splash of lemon juice
- Salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon chives, chopped
This is how the preparation works:
1. First we prepare the garlic sauce so that it can infuse nicely. To do this, put the crème fraîche in a bowl. Pass the garlic cloves through a press (is available here on Amazon*) admit. Season everything with a splash of lemon juice and chives and stir well. Season with salt and pepper.
2. Now clean the mushrooms thoroughly, halve or quarter large mushrooms if necessary. Peel the onion and garlic and dice both finely.
3. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the mushrooms for about 5 minutes. Then add garlic, onion, butter and paprika powder. Fry for another 5 minutes until the mushrooms are cooked through.
4. Turn the mushrooms occasionally. Season with salt and pepper. To serve, sprinkle with chives and a generous dollop of garlic sauce on top. Bon appetit!
