Are you looking for a real Sunday lunch like grandma or do you fancy the extra portion of cheese? Then you have to try our recipe for a juicy meatloaf with cheese filling! The special thing about it: the side dish, a delicious potato gratin, is almost included.
You don't have to bake the creamy potatoes separately, but simply let them braise them together with the meatloaf. This not only saves time, but also gives both the meatloaf and the potatoes the extra pep.
2-in-1 recipe: meatlovers with cheese filling on potato gratin
You need:
- 1 roll from the previous day
- approx. 200 ml milk
- 1 handful of smooth parsley
- 500 g mixed hack
- 1 no
- 1 TL mustard
- 200 g cheese at a time (e.g. Gouda or spicy mountain cheese)
- 1 cup of cream (250 ml)
- 1 handful of scattered cheese
- 1 kg of stuck potatoes
- 1 TL Rosmarin
- 1 TL Thymian
- 1 praise nutmeg
- Salt and pepper
This is how it works:
1.Preheat the oven to 200 ° C. Hold the milk slightly and soak the roll in it. In the meantime, wash the parsley and roughly chop. Put the hack in a large bowl.
2.Take the bun out of the milk, squeeze out and put together with the egg, the parsley, the mustard and pepper and salt to the minced meat and knead everything into a smooth dough. Cut the cheese into finger -thick pens and put them in the meat roasts.
3.Peel the potatoes and cut them into very thin slices. Alternatively, you can also use a planer, then they become even more even and thinner. Put the potato slices in a bowl, pour the cream and season with salt, pepper, nutmeg and the dried herbs.
4.Grease a large baking dish and add the meat roast in the middle. Layer the potatoes around it and top them with scattered cheese.
5.Bake the meatloaf with cheese filling on potato gratin at 200 ° C for around an hour.

Variant with whistle: meat roast Mediterranean species
If the classic meat roast is too boring for you, you can easily modify our recipe. Simply refined the wood frying dough with a handful of dried dried tomatoes, capers or olives. Fresh basil serves as a replacement for parsley.
Instead of gouda or spicy mountain cheese, as a Mediterranean cheese filling you can take a solid mozzarella, which you also cut into pins and fill the roast.
