The little treats are fruity from the orange and irresistibly Christmassy thanks to the processed marzipan. Chocolate rounds off the sweet cookies and makes them a hit on every cookie plate.

Recipe for Christmas orange marzipan cookies

You need these ingredients:

  • 200 g Marzipan-Rohmasse
  • 250 g soft butter
  • 80g sugar
  • 2 eggs (size M)
  • 450 g Flour
  • Zest of 1 organic orange
  • 1 tsp orange juice
  • 1/2 pack baking powder
  • 200 g dark chocolate coating

This is how the cookies work:

1. Grate the marzipan with a coarse kitchen grater (buy here on Amazon*) chop or tear into small pieces. Beat the butter, sugar, eggs, orange zest and orange juice until fluffy, then stir in the marzipan.

2. Mix the flour and baking powder in a separate bowl and then work with the marzipan mixture to form a dough.

3. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees fan.

3. Form the dough into balls about the size of a walnut and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Press lightly. Chill the remaining dough in the refrigerator or use several baking trays. Then bake for about 10-13 minutes. The cookies shouldn't get too dark.

4. Melt the chocolate coating and drizzle it over the cooled cookies. Optionally, spread some orange zest over the liquid chocolate.
