A pizza from a casserole dish? Yes, exactly! Our recipe for pizza casserole is super quick and incredibly easy. The secret ingredient: breakfast sandwiches from the refrigerator.

Let's be honest, the most annoying part of making pizza is waiting for the dough to rise, right? During the week, when time is short, you just want to get food on the table quickly. But don't worry - with this recipe you can save yourself the wait and still enjoy delicious pizza feeling!

You can have that! With our pizza casserole. All you have to do is chop the topping of your choice and the oven will do the rest. There's no need for endless kneading and rolling out, because it's super quick with our secret ingredient: we use it as the baseBaked rollsfrom the refrigerator shelf.

By the way, the taste of the pizza casserole is reminiscent of a typical American pizza with a thick base - nice and fluffy, tasty, hearty!

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 cans of Sunday rolls from the fridge, each containing 6 rolls
  • 250 g pureed tomatoes
  • 2 large tomatoes
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 100 g Mozzarella
  • 150 g grated cheese
  • 2 EL Crème fraîche
  • 1 TL Oregano, getrocknet
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika, sweet
  • Some pepper
  • oil
  • Topping: e.g. E.g. salami, corn, ham, peppers…

And it's that easy:

1. Open the oven175 degrees top/bottom heatpreheat. Grease a large baking dish with 1-2 drops of oil.

2. Remove the bun dough from the packaging and cut the pieces in half lengthways so that they are half as thick as before. Then place them next to each other in the mold so that the bottom is covered.

3. Wash tomatoes and cut into pieces. Peel the garlic and chop finely or pass it through a garlic press (Buy it right here on Amazon*) give. Sauté briefly in a pan with a little oil. Deglaze with the pureed tomatoes and add the tomato pieces.

4. Season the whole thing with oregano, basil, paprika powder and pepper. Simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes. Then stir in the crème fraîche and approx. 50 grams of grated cheese.

5. Pour the sauce over the rolls. Squeeze out the fresh mozzarella well, tear it apart and spread it over the casserole along with the remaining grated cheese. Optionally top with corn and ham or slices of salami, for example.

6. Bake the casserole for approx.30 minutesput in the oven. A fresh salad goes well with it.
