Hack balls in tomato sauce - a real Italian classic. But the gourmet dish can also be enjoyed in Greek. To do this, zucchini cubes and salted feta end up in the minced meat mixture before you ball it in a fruity tomato sauce.
The ingenious thing about the recipe? It is prepared super quickly, perfect for everyone who feeds low carb and is already dreaming of sun and vacation in Greece.
Fast recipe for wood balls with feta and zucchini in tomato sauce
Our tip so that the wood balls become super juicy and hold together: Take the best mixed hack. This has a higher fat content than pure beef wood meat and ensures that the meatballs do not become dry.
Ingredients for approx. 2 portions:
- 250 g minced meat
- 1 small zucchini
- 80 G pass
- 1 no
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 Prise Pfeffer
- 1/2 TL paprika powder
- 1-2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
- 1 TL Die
- Oil to fry
For the sauce
- 300 g passed tomatoes
- 1 small onion
- 1 pinch of sugar
- 1 TL Oregano, getrocknet
- 1 teaspoon salt
And the preparation is that easy:
1. Wash the zucchini and cut into very small cubes. Then put in a bowl and knead with minced meat, egg, crumbled feta, some oil, spices and breadcrumbs with your hands into an even mass. If the mass is too moist, add some breadcrumbs.
2. Then roll several small meatballs from the minced meat. Get the oil hot in a large pan and fry the meatballs all around.
3. In the meantime, remove an onion and cut them into small pieces. Take the finished wood balls out of the pan and set aside. Put the onion in the pan and braise with the rest of the oil.
4. Then deglaze the whole thing with the tomatoes passed, bring to the boil and season with salt, sugar and oregano. Put the minced balls back to the pan to heat back to the sauce and serve.
