Cinnamon, star anise, cloves and real vanilla, together with apple juice and rum, create the typical baked apple taste that warms us from the inside out in winter. The fine liqueur is not only a pleasure for your own winter evenings, but also the ideal Christmas present for your loved ones... if you even want to give up the heavenly smelling liqueur...

Recipe for a Christmas baked apple liqueur

It will be extra Christmassy if you add edible glitter powder to the liqueur (you can get it here on Amazon*)! This means the bottle really looks great. Add a bow and your homemade last-minute gift is ready.

Ingredients for 4 large bottles:

  • 2 l apple juice
  • 150g brown sugar
  • 150g white sugar
  • 4 sticks cinnamon
  • 2 vanilla beans
  • 4 star anise
  • 8 cloves
  • 750 ml brown rum

This is how it is prepared:

1. Pour apple juice into a pot and stir in the two types of sugar. Add cinnamon, cloves and star anise. Scrape out the vanilla pods and add the scraped pods and pulp to the juice.

2. Now bring the liquid to the boil and simmer over low heat for about 10-15 minutes. Then let it cool briefly and sieve out the spices.

3. Then stir in the rum and fill the baked apple liqueur into sterilized bottles and close tightly. Boil them in water for 10 minutes beforehand. The liqueur lasts for several months.
