Especially in the winter months, when it gets really cold outside, the risk of mold increases. But how often and, above all, how long should you ventilate in winter and when temperatures are below zero?

Admittedly, airing out in winter can be uncomfortable, especially if you're one of those people who prefers to stay toasty warm. Nevertheless, ventilation is extremely important, even in sub-zero temperatures, to ensure good air circulation and to supply the interior rooms with fresh air.
In general, cold air is drier. So if you have high humidity at home, you can effectively reduce the humidity just by ventilating regularly, especially in winter. And you don't have to open the windows for long:If the temperatures fall below 0 degrees, it is sufficient to ventilate for five minutes three times a day.
By the way, leaving the window permanently tilted does not improve the air quality and only ensures that the walls cool down. This in turn can promote mold and is therefore not recommended.

When it rains, the humidity outside is correspondingly higher. In this case, it is much more difficult to reduce the humidity. If possible, you should keep the windows closed when it rains and only ventilate them afterwards.
