Education tips from Grandma
What we can learn from our grandmother about mom.
Grandmas are just the best. We can look at some educational tips and advice from our grandmothers.
When I became mom a few years ago, everything changed for me. In addition to lots of books and internet research on mom, my grandma was at the top of the list for good advice. Because let's be honest, grannies are the best.
They are experiences of life and have already experienced a lot. Grandmas made mistakes themselves and learned from them. With their life experience, they often have a completely different perspective on things than we do. And that's exactly what we can benefit from mums.
Of course, some things have changed and we "educate" probably differently than our grandparents earlier. But there are fundamental approaches that have not changed today.
Here are 4 tips from grandma who make today's mum much easier.
1. We will get used to everything
Everything changes at the beginning of pregnancy. Everything brings with it. The birth, growing up and finally even when the children take off and leave the parents' house.
At first glance, it sounds like something that we as parents will never get used to. After all, how should you get along with so little sleep for the first few years? But Grandma always said that you can get used to any change. Even if it is so hard and exhausting. In retrospect, she is definitely right.
2. It always turns differently than you think
"It always turns differently than you think." The sentence is 100 %. Plans are usually only possible with children. In practice, they are rather difficult to implement.
But that doesn't matter either. After all, it never gets boring. Surprises included. So don't worry too much and try to plan everything. Life does what it thinks is right. With children anyway.
3. Enjoy the little moments
The first steps, say "mom" for the first time or the last time accompany them on their arms. In retrospect, many of these little magical moments are forgotten. It was sworn that you always remember these moments when they passed. But with all the hustle and bustle and chaos that live life, such moments often get into forgetting.
So my grandmother always told me that the little moments should be enjoyed in the here and now. Because they are quickly forgotten. Now as a mom, this sentence shows me more than ever that you should really enjoy the time with your children. Even if you sometimes rob you of your nerve.
4. Everything needs his time
The child can't turn yet? And haven't said his first words yet? But hopefully it can run? As a mom, these questions seem familiar to me.
Every step of your child is commented on. Either it is too early with a little or too late. You can never make it right everyone. But why should you too? Because what I definitely learned from my grandmother:Everything takes time and children take them too. Some more, others less. And that's a good thing. After all, they are not small robots, but wonderful individuals who absolutely enrich our lives.
Mums and dads, listen to grandma and grandpa, take the time to enjoy and stay flexible. Because so the mum becomes even more beautiful!
