Tip #1: Clean the sink drain with vinegar and baking soda
You need:
- 1 packet of baking powder
- Half a cup of vinegar
Here's how:
Pour the packet of baking soda into the drain and then immediately pour half a cup of vinegar after it. Afterwards you will usually hear a hissing and a bubbling noise.
Don't worry, this is completely normal and a sign that the chemical reaction is working and the deposits are coming off.
Then add more boiling water and the drain should be clear again and no longer give off any unpleasant smells. If that's not enough or the water still isn't draining properly, just repeat the process.
Tip #2: Clean the sink drain with cola
As an alternative to the baking soda and vinegar trick, you can also use a popular drain cleaning drink: Cola. To do this, simply pour a cup of cola into the drain of your sink and leave it to work overnight.
The next day, pour boiling water down the drain. This should make constipation a thing of the past.
Tip #3: Clean the sink drain with washing soda
Washing soda can also work wonders against unpleasant odors in the drain. To do this, simply pour a few tablespoons of soda into the sink drain and let it work for 15 minutes. Then rinse with hot water.
Tip #4: Clean the sink with a dishwasher tablet
Of course, you should also clean the outside of the sink regularly. This is best done with a dishwashing sponge and dishwashing liquid. To do this, work in the detergent using circular movements and then rinse with hot water.
If you have stubborn dirt in the sink or don't have time, you can simply run hot water into your sink in the evening and add a dishwasher tablet to the water. The tab dissolves overnight and your sink is sparkling clean the next day.
