Blossoms in Keukenhof: This spring the park is celebrating its 70th birthday

This year there are already wonderful blossoms in the park: tulips from all over the Netherlands were delivered to Lisse and planted. Because in 2019 the world-famous flower exhibition is celebrating its 70th birthday. The spring flowers are displayed on an impressive 50 hectares and can now be admired by both tourists and residents of the nearby towns. The park opened its doors to amateur gardeners from all over the world yesterday, March 21st.

The largest Dutch flower exhibition with a focus on bulb flowers traditionally takes place every spring in Keukenhof. In 2019, visitors can once again look forward to a display of flowers: more than seven million flowers have already been planted and are now blooming. Over the next eight weeks, more than 100 growers will fill their fragrant dream gardens withTulips, daffodils and hyacinthspresent to the audience. And there really is a lot to see, because this year's motto is: “Flower power”. Accordingly, the gardens were designed in the style of the colorful and easy-care landscapes from the 70s. Sometimes the plants grow in flowerbeds where they are arranged in various geometric shapes, sometimes they meander along garden paths.

More than 20 flower shows will be organized this year

Not only garden flowers, but also cut flowers and potted plants are exhibited in numerous pavilions. If you are interested, you can visit one of the 20 flower shows to marvel at not only local flowers, but also real exotic flowers such as the flamingo flower.

More than 1.4 million people visited the world-famous park last year. Numerous industry meetings were organized and held during the eight weeks, and many breeders found new business partners and organized meetings.
