CDs are made up of up to 99% plastic, namely polycarbonate. This makes them a valuable recycling material. Broken or scratched CDs can be taken to a recycling center or other collection point, but do not have to end up in the trash can. In addition, there are very good conditions for imaginative handicrafts. These serve great other purposes: you can also process them yourself and make something beautiful out of them.
First the surface coating and the lettering will be removed once. The disc is then ground, melted and plastic granules are produced from it. This will later be used for other plastic products. The discs that no longer play or that you simply don't want anymore are good craft materials. Great things can easily be made from a whole one or several chopped into pieces. We present 7 simple DIY projects with instructions.
Make dream catchers out of CDs
You can use a CD as a circular weaving frame and use it to make a beautiful dream catcher. It will be a beautiful decoration for the ceiling or wall. Circular weaving is a simple weaving technique and is worked in small formats, which is ideal for crafting with children. A particular appeal lies in the task of incorporating different materials, such as yarn, ribbons and cords, as well as beads.
