Make rainbows with balloons for a birthday or party

To make this balloon arch you will need balloons in allColors of the rainbow, a hand pump for balloons, metal wire and thread. The larger the arch you want, the more balloons and longer wire you will need.

First, think about how you want to arrange the balloons. Inflate a few pieces of the same color with the air pump and tie them together first with the thread and then on the wire as shown in the picture. Do the same with the other colored balloons until the arch is long enough. Attach the ends of the wire to the desired location and enjoy your colorful “rainbow” of balloons.

Have fun at the bridal shower with these cute pink decorations! You will need balloons in pink, purple, red, white or any other color you want, a black marker, white ribbon and helium to fill.

First inflate each balloon with air, label them with the marking pen (preferably waterproof) and let the air out again. Fill it with helium and tie a white ribbon to the balloon knot.

Write funny sayings on the other balloons as explained above, fill them with helium and tie them all together in the desired location. The result is a beautiful, colorful and fun decoration for the bridal shower.

Decoupage craft idea - Chic exotic decoration with a leaf pattern

Impress your guests with this unusual table decoration, which is sure to be an eye-catcher. You will need decoupage paper with a leaf pattern, decoupage glue, balloons in pink, orange and white, helium, thin ribbon and pineapple fruits.

Cut out the leaves from the decoupage paper and fill the balloons with the helium. Apply the glue to the leaves and stick them to the balloons. You can decorate any balloon or just some of them in this way.

Take one or more balloons and tie them to a pineapple. This is ideal as a balloon weight. Make as many balloon holders as you like and arrange them on the table.

To make the table decoration look complete, it is best to choose colors for the cutlery or dishes that match the colors of the balloons and decorate with palm branches. You can also decorate other areas in the room with the decoupage balloons for more mood and fun atmosphere.

Colorful glasses

Crafting with balloons can be child's play. Refresh those clear boring glasses in minutes with these instructions. You can also decorate jam jars in the same way. You will need glasses, balloons in bright colors, scissors, a ruler and a ballpoint pen.

Cut the balloons in half and let the glass slip into the balloon as shown in the picture. Make a whole set of colorful glasses with the colorful balloons and decorate your home with them.

Chic vase decorated with balloons

This idea is very similar to the previous one. All you have to do is put the balloon over the glass all the way to the bottom. Insert the protruding opening of the balloon deep into the glass and the nice vase is ready.

Make your own balloon bouquet

If you would like to make a balloon bouquet yourself, you have two options: Either you use the classic shape and simply tie several balloons together or place them in a vase (then you need helium) or you use the long balloons that are intended for shaping and displaying where animals are usually knotted to make several flowers and then arranged like a bouquet.

For this balloon bouquet, use mini balloons and wide straws (balloon sticks are also suitable). Inflate a balloon and place it over the straw. To make the whole thing stick better, you can also add a little glue. In this way you can make a few more “balloon flowers”, which can also differ in shape and color. Then place them in a vase or other nice container high enough to support the balloons.

Make flowers

But if that isn't original enough for you, you can also make individual flowers with balloons and place them in a vase. You need per flower:

  • a long blue balloon
  • a long green balloon
  • Pump
  • Scissors

Inflate a blue balloon, leaving about 10 cm without air. Fold over about 15 to 20 cm of the end with the knot, pinch the area that the knot now touches and start twisting the balloon, incorporating the knot as you do so. You will receive the first petal. Create the remaining four petals in the same way.

Then cut open the tip of the balloon to let out the excess air, so that only the flower remains, which you now add the stem and leaves to. To do this, inflate a green balloon and separate the top tip from the rest by screwing it in. Insert the green balloon between the petals. At the other end and at any height, shape the leaves in the same way as the petals. The first flower is ready! You can take a closer look at the steps in the video.

If you would like a balloon bouquet in the shape of flowers, you will need a large container as a vase does not offer enough space. A pretty bucket or an elongated basket with a larger diameter, for example, is ideal and can hold several of these rather voluminous flowers.

You can find another variant on Martha Stuart's website. The link to the video is at the end of the article so you can follow it if you feel like it.

Make balloon animals

Balloon animals are particularly popular with children. So if you are looking for a kids party craft idea, you can opt for animal crafts. We have an idea for normal, oval or round balloons, as well as for the long models.

Blow out the balloons and cut out ears from paper. The ears are of course shaped differently depending on the animal (e.g. triangular for cats or foxes, round for bears, etc.). You can first prepare a template to make both ears the same. You should also think of a tab that you fold back after cutting out the ears and attach to the balloon using simple adhesive tape.

Finally, draw the animal face on the balloon with a marker. Alternatively, they can also be decorated with paper faces. The children can then take the finished balloons home with them after the party. You can also use the idea to make cute party decorations with balloons. For more detailed instructions, see the video below.

Everyone knows the friendly animals that are knotted from long balloons. They are a classic at children's parties and are usually made by a clown. However, you can also try it yourself and make the following animals.

These butterflies can be made in any color or colorful and are so easy that even older children can help out. Inflate two balloons for the wings: one completely, the other not. You definitely need a pump for this. Tie both balloons together into rings and then place the small one in the large ring, hold the two knots together with one hand and the lower half with the other and start twisting them a few times.

For the body, inflate another balloon, but not completely. Form the head in the middle, then wrap the body around the wings and tie the two ends together. Simply cut off the excess. If the instructions seem complicated, don't be alarmed. Just try it and you'll definitely get the hang of it quickly.

These monkeys are a little more complicated. However, if you follow the picture instructions, they will definitely be quick to make. At the end of the article you will also find a link to the video instructions, which make the craft project even easier. So if you would like to make monkeys with balloons for a theme party or entertain and keep the guests busy at a party, stop by.

Make a number out of balloons

Numbers made from balloons are particularly suitable for a birthday party, but you can also make numbers with balloons for a crystal, silver, gold or other wedding. There are different options, such as cutting the number out of cardboard and sticking small balloons on it. But we'll show you a simple idea with wire using a video, for which you also need small balloons and artificial flowers. Of course, other decorative elements are also permitted.

Make a number of any size out of the wire and inflate the balloons. Since you need several of them, a balloon pump is recommended. Use adhesive tape to attach the balloons to the wire at intervals here and there and then decorate the gaps with artificial flowers, which can be easily attached thanks to their wire stems. You can fix individual flowers as well as put together small bouquets and then attach them to the wire. If necessary, you can also secure the flowers on the non-visible side with adhesive tape.
