Make a cute paper plate unicorn with children

All children love unicorns, especially the little girls. Regardless of whether you want to slip into the role of a unicorn yourself or simply want to make the magical creatures, you can make a beautiful unicorn out of a paper plate and a few decorative items. It's really easy.

Necessary materials:

  • paper plate
  • Gold glitter paper, you can also use gold foam rubber
  • Pink glitter paper
  • Paper flowers
  • self-adhesive glitter stones
  • Weißer Cardstock
  • Black permanent marker
  • Glue stick

And this is how you make a unicorn out of a paper plate:

  • Cut out two ears - two white ears from the cardstock and two pink ears from the glitter paper that are slightly smaller than the white ears. Glue each pink ear into each white ear.
  • Cut out two pink glitter hearts and a gold horn.
  • Turn the paper plate with the curvature facing up, glue the horn and ears to the underside of the plate rim and the heart cheeks to the middle circle.
  • Draw eyes with eyelashes on the paper plate with the marker.
  • Glue flowers around the base of the unicorn horn. Three flowers look beautiful.
  • Add rhinestones to the center of the flowers and around the flowers to add more sparkle.

These pretty unicorns will be a great decoration for the children's room, don't you think?

There are several variations of the unicorn mask. For example, you can make a unicorn like the project above and simply add two cutouts for the eyes. A stencil knife will serve you well for this. Also make two small holes on either side of the unicorn and thread an elastic band through them so that the mask fits well on the head.

Another option would be to use just half of the paper plate and make a unicorn out of it. Cut out holes for eyes, paint or glue on pink cheeks, and add a horn and other decorations of your choice. Instead of a rubber band, you can also attach a wooden handle to the bottom of the paper plate.

Here is also the third variant of making a unicorn mask out of a paper plate. To do this, cut out the inner part of the plate completely so that your face or the child's face fits inside. Then glue the horn in the top center and two ears on either side. You can decorate the mask further, for example with a colorful mane made of wool and a round horse face made of pink paper.
