DIY herb garden in the mason jar
Required materials:
Mason
Potting
Seeds
shovel
Water
Herbal labels
Instructions for handicrafts:
- First choose the herbs and the space in the house where you want to plant them. Basil, parsley, oregano, rosemary, sage and thyme need full sun, while coriander, dill, tarragon and mint sometimes need sun.
- Fill every mason jar with ¾ of the potting soil. You should also consider placing stones on the bottom of the vessel first, as there is no drainage in a mason jar. The herbs usually become up to two or three times as large as the vessel. Then put the seeds in it. If you want to accelerate growth, make the seeds in warm water overnight. Finally, fill the vessel with further potting soil.
- Make garden labels for every herb. If you do not find prefabricated chalk panel labels, you can also make them yourself. There are advanced, unprocessed wood decorations in handicrafts. Spread them with three layers of chalk panel color (let the color dry completely dry between the paints).
- Keep your herb gardenEvery day in the eye. You should water it when the surface of the earth feels dry. Herb seeds can need weeks to grow.
