Doing things yourself can not only save a lot of money, but is also fun and proud. How about, for example, a new lamp? There are great models of origami lamps that you can easily recreate to add a very special decoration to your interior. We've put together some great instructions that will help you make a hanging lamp or a floor lamp. You'll see, it's easier than you might think.
You can hang this cute lamp design on the ceiling and decorate and light up any room with it. To make them, you need to get the following materials and instruments:
– 1.15 meters of wallpaper in any color
– long ruler or tape measure
- Scissors
- Pencil
– Lochzange
– approx. 1 meter of cord (two pieces of 50 cm each)
– Glue if desired
– Cable with socket (can be purchased ready-made)
For crafting you will need a strip of wallpaper. A size of 30 x 100 cm was chosen for the example. Cut the strip to size and then fold it like an accordion. Each fold should be 7.5cm apart from the next.
Divide the strip into three strips as shown by drawing lines 10cm apart.
For the next step, you can use a ruler to get even folds. Start from the bottom left and work your way to the top right. Each box should be divided diagonally into two triangles with the new folds as shown in the picture.
Then repeat the same with the opposite, diagonal line. To do this, start at the top left and end at the bottom right. The above pattern should emerge.
This is how the wallpaper strip should ultimately be created. Next, the holes are added to the top and bottom sides. To do this, use a hole punch. The holes are used to be able to pull the future lampshade together with the cord and form a round shape.
Tie the string together with a double knot. You can then cut off the excess cord. Pull the cable through the cord ring until the socket with the light bulb touches the inside of the lampshade. Then tie up the lower opening and your new lamp is ready. If you prefer, you can also leave the bottom opening open. You can find examples of this below.
This design has a very romantic look. This is due, among other things, to their white color and the use of thinner paper. Here we show how you can use this lampshade for both a pendant lamp and a floor lamp.
The lampshade is first folded in an accordion style. Then the paper is folded in the respective directions as shown above right.
To make a ceiling light, you can use an old CD. Cut this so that you can insert the cable into the middle of the CD. You then attach the lampshade to this support.
If you would rather make a floor lamp, you can just as easily make a stand for the lampshade. Wire works very well for this purpose. Make the shape shown above and attach it to the lamp stand. Then put the lampshade on and the floor lamp is ready.
These variants are basically made in the same way as the first instructions. The difference is that the bottom side is open, allowing more light to flow downwards.
The green lamp, as you have probably noticed, has a more elongated shape than the other two. You can achieve this simply by folding longer diamonds. The sketch can be helpful.
