Sensory boards for babies and toddlers with waste products
You've probably heard of them beforeSensory Boards(Activity Board) belongs. These contain various objects to touch and puzzle about and are intended to promote the little ones' motor skills in a fun way. The lids of the wet wipes are a wonderful variant for such recycling ideas for crafts, not only because of the opening and closing of the door-like lid. You can also attach different materials behind them that have different feels:
- Velvet fabric
- felt
- pieces of wool
- Piece of carpet
- fine sandpaper
- pom poms
- Pearls or glass stones
- Paper straws (cut into pieces)
- Mosaic tiles
- Buttons
- mussels
- Feathers
- Paint patterns on the lids with hot glue
If you use small parts, you should not only make sure that they are really well secured. Also, do not let children play with it unsupervised as there is a risk of choking!

Recycle plastic waste and practice words with small children
Of course, simple cards are also suitable for this purpose, but if the little ones have to open the doors first, as with the sensory board, the whole thing becomes even more interesting and a little more challenging for them. Draw or print out any motifs and label them. Then cut them to the right size and glue them onto cardboard or cardboard with the lids on top.
We have prepared a few templates for recycling craft ideas for you that you can print out directly and use for this purpose - both with motifs and labeled, as well as blank versions on which you can draw motifs yourself and label them.
You can't just practice words. If you have older children, you can learn spelling, arithmetic, geometric shapes or even English vocabulary instead.

Recycling ideas for crafts – mural with photos as a gift idea
You can stick photos on a thin board or cardboard and glue the covers over them. Make sure the photos are not larger than the ceiling. Then frame the picture without glass or use it as a gift. Alternatively, you can cut smaller sheets of cardboard and make an album out of them by binding them together with binder rings. Depending on the size of the individual cardboard sheets, you can also insert two to three covers with photos per album page.
Homemade containers for wet wipes for on the go
The classic wet wipe packaging is often quite large and impractical for your handbag. Added to this is the waste that ends up in the trash after every packaging is emptied. You can make a more compact and, above all, more sustainable version yourself using the waste products and, more precisely, the lid and a sealable freezer bag or cosmetic bag. These recycling ideas for crafts are so easy:
After removing the lid, place it on the desired container, open it and trace the inner opening in a slightly smaller size (basically the same as the original package). Then cut a hole along the outline (be careful not to cut through the bag on both sides, just one side). Then glue the wet wipe cover in place with hot glue. Once the glue has set, you can use any amount of wet wipes Put it in by simply opening the closure of the bag and then closing it again so that the wipes do not dry out and of course do not slip out.
After wipes are used up and before adding new ones, you should clean the container well to prevent mold growth.
Recycling ideas for crafts – Advent calendars for small gifts or vouchers
For the Christmas season, you can also create original Advent calendars in no time using the wet wipe lids (assuming you have already collected enough lids in advance). Label the lids with the relevant data. You can then hide gifts such as vouchers, congratulations, other flat gifts or just Christmas pictures and motifs underneath.
Or how about you take them to...Making gnome doorsuse as an alternative to the purchased or homemade wooden ones? Made quickly and therefore perfect for a last minute project! This is also a great idea for an upcycling project with children in elementary school or preschool.
