Of course, use fabric in a matching color. Whether it contains patterns and motifs matters less (they make the flowers even more interesting). Rather, you should pay attention to matching colors so that you can really see that it is a sunflower. So you need:

  • Strips of fabric, all the same length (and lots of them)
  • Cutter and matching baseorFabric scissors
  • two-part lids for preserving jars
  • Wooden beads in two sizes
  • Yarn
  • Rope
  • Hot glue

Instructions for making the late summer garland

  • Cut the strips of fabric to a point on both sides. To do this, cut off both corners with a cutter or fabric scissors.
  • Tie the strips around a ring until it is completely covered.
  • Thread wooden beads onto yarn (without shortening it first!): first a small one, then a large one and then a small one again.
  • On the side where the end of the yarn is (leave a long enough end), tie a knot directly on the group of beads
  • Also tie a knot on the other side of the group of beads. This way they will no longer slip.
  • Tie the free end to the ring. Determine how far the beads should be from the flower.

  • Now add a loop directly to the short end, which will later be used for hanging.
  • Insert the cover plate into the ring.
  • Apply a little glue right around the edge.
  • Take the rope, place the end on top and start gluing it to the lid in a spiral pattern. To do this, add glue every now and then.
  • When you get to the middle, cut off the rest of the rope.

  • Now make the next flower and then tie the yarn on the other side of the beads. Make sure the distances are equal.
  • Once the second sunflower is ready, move on to the third and so on. You can make as many flowers as you want, but keep in mind that the garland will become heavier and harder to hang later.

Tipp:Of course, you can also choose other flower colors if you prefer them to the sunny yellow of the sunflower. Finally, there are numerous other late summer flowers.
