It's still a while until carnival, but die-hard teasers are already thinking about what costume they'll wear at the next carnival. Understandable, because the selection is really huge. And as a pirate, nurse or pilot, you can no longer attract the attention of others. And especially at theme parties you should show up in an appropriate carnival costume.
If you want to get excited about Carnival, you should get a costume that corresponds to the spirit of the time. Zombie and horror costumes à la Walking Dead are particularly popular at the moment. For this you need torn everyday clothes and lots of fake blood and make-up. Injuries and strange growths then have to be painted on so that the zombie look fits. If that's too much effort for you, you can also use practical masks. Alternatively, carnival costumes can of course also be ordered online. Everyone can do that however they want.
We asked the scene whether the professionals might have any helpful tips for us normal people. We learned that a good costume is, above all, clearly recognizable. If it is not immediately clear to outsiders what the disguise is supposed to represent, they will quickly lose interest. Of course you can still wear unusual costumesto carnivalwear, but care should be taken to ensure that the characteristic and striking features of the outfit are fully accentuated. In order for this to work, you have to look closely at the costume model and reduce it to the most important points.
Let's take the well-known pirate costume for example. What's the first thing you think of? Eye patch, saber, pistol, as well as the film series Pirates of the Caribbean and the book “Treasure Island”. So it's about adventure, but also about danger and distant islands. All of this is something you should try to convey in your carnival costume. Then it works with that tooindividual lookat the theme party.
Homemade costumes usually look great. Dozens of hours of craftsmanship often go into an outfit and hard-working family members sew and craft together to create the perfect costume. Of course, this is not feasible for working people with little time. Such people should therefore resort to classic off-the-shelf carnival costumes.
