The animal costume is cheap and therefore ideally suited if you don't want to spend a lot of money on a unique event or value a new costume every year. The bouquet is particularly recommended as a costume for groups, since a whole foci of ostrich looks even funny. But we come to the handicap: How can you make the bouquet costume yourself?
You need these materials for the ostrich costume
- T-shirt or lungerm shirt
You can take an old shirt that you no longer wear. It can be short or long-tough as desired, but have a black color so that it does not stand out in terms of color under the feathers.
- Krepppband
Black and white crepe tape are ideal because it has exactly the right width for the design of feathers. But you can also take normal crepe paper or tissue paper. In any case, it is advisable that it is a thin, elastic paper so that the spring dress looks airier (like the real ostrich springs).
- Glue
You can use any universal adhesive or super glue, such as thisAll -glue from Amazon. It is only important that it is at least considered to be the occasion. So if you already have a favorite glue that you know that he literally holds what he promises, just take it.
- Matching leg clothing
Fabric pants, leggings, jogging pants - you have the choice. But it should fit in color. Rosa or skin color would be optimal. If necessary, black also works.
Optimally, you also choose the shoes in a suitable color. If you celebrate carnival inside, you can also put on skin -colored ballerin shoes.

Tinker the ostrich springs
- Cut the tape into longer pieces. If these differ somewhat in length, it is not bad.
- Each piece then gets a tip by cutting off the corners. Ideally, the tip is a little rounded, as usual with springs.
- Cut the pages of the paper springs. Here, too, the individual springs can differ.
- You need a large number of such springs from both the white and black color. You could be helped by friends or family.
- They then glue the springs on the shirt everywhere. It is best to start the collar and continue working in rows.
- You need the white feathers for the last few rows above the hem. For example, you could stick the black springs up to half, then go over to the whites (start at the hem and work up the row in series), and then continue with the blacks.
- Make sure to attach the paper springs close together to create a dense plumage.
- Usually it should be enough if you equip the front of the shirt with springs. You can then try it on and check whether you would prefer further plumage towards the belly.
