Unusual muffins for children's birthday parties

They say 'your eyes eat with you' and especially when you prepare or cook something for children, this rule applies in full force. Every treat should look colorful, delicious and visually attractive so that everything is eaten. For younger guests, it is appropriate to portion the food and offer it so that they can easily help themselves with their hands. The small portions mean fewer bitten-off leftovers left lying around after the party. Of course it can be something sweet and to combine everything in one, unusual cupcakes and muffins for children's birthday parties seem like a possible solution.

What fancy cupcakes andMuffins for children's birthdaysare very easy to prepare and can be decorated, arranged and designed as desired depending on the party theme. Everyone probably knows the basic recipe:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 No
  • 1 pack vanilla sugar
  • 1 Pkg. Backpulver

Cocoa powder, as well as any kind of berries or other fruits are also often included. The muffins can easily be converted into great cupcakes if you decorate them deliciously.

Buttercream is usually used to decorate cakes and cupcakes, which can also be colored if desired. Food coloring, which can be found in almost every store, is suitable for this purpose. An alternative and much healthier option would be to produce natural dyes yourself. Edible pigments can be successfully obtained from fruits and vegetables in the home. The ingredients are dehumidified in a special device or at a very low temperature (around 65 degrees), then ground and simply added to the cream as needed. For example, you can get red or pink from beetroot, orange from carrots, yellow from pumpkin, green from spinach, brown from cocoa powder, etc.

Our first idea is really simple and is ideal for beginners in the art of baking. The muffins are ready baked and cooled, the buttercream should be prepared, divided into 4 equal portions and a smaller one. Here is also a basic recipe for buttercream:

  • 250g Butter
  • 500ml milk
  • 250g powdered sugar
  • 1 pack of vanilla flavored cooking pudding powder

Preparing the basic cream is very simple. Cook the pudding with milk according to instructions, then let it cool and stir constantly to prevent a skin from forming. Mix the butter with the powdered sugar and mix with the pudding, spoonful by spoonful. If it is still a little warm, the mixture may curdle, so be careful. If desired, you can add extracts to the cream to enhance the taste and color it as desired.

This requires four colors and white, which match the colors of the popular M&Ms candies - in this case: yellow, orange, blue and green. Please note that the muffins that will be decorated later do not have to overflow the molds so that the cream doesn't spill all over them after decorating.

Set the cream in four colors aside in small bowls or teacups. Think about how many muffins you want in each color and leave some that can be decorated differently. Separately mix the naturally white cream with a small amount of the blue one. Fill in a piping bag. Use this to spray the remaining ones so that they look like water and waves.

Smear cream of any color on the mu and decorate with M&Ms. Look at the picture: green cream, green candies and two red ones for the fish's mouth. Arrange nicely so that the round candies imitate fish scales and don't press too hard so that the filling doesn't get messy.

The sweet fish also needs eyes. You can easily recreate one with a drop of white cream and a piece of brown candy. Let your imagination unfold and arrange the cupcakes creatively. Pay attention to the position of each candy - some are on their sides and others are placed flat. Then arrange nicely in a large plate and place the muffins with the water decoration between the fish.

For a little girl's birthday party, it would make sense to opt for pastel colors. Small, creative details will set accents. Sometimes pink and other bright colors are far too exciting, often exaggerated. Match everything in color and create a really special party atmosphere.

You make the decoration yourself. Flags or garlands can be creatively designed from any paper and personalized for the birthday child. Thesmall decorative elementscan also serve as party favors for guests, don't cost much apart from some free time and are definitely something special.

Color the buttercream depending on your taste and party theme. Place in a piping bag and use a suitable nozzle to pipe onto the muffins. Then decorate as desired with small candies, fondant or sugar sprinkles. Alternatively, let the children have a go at the birthday party and organize a competition for the prettiest cupcake.

To bring everything together, bake a cake that looks exactly like a cupcake. A special baking pan will help you with this. Decorate beautifully with cream and sugar sprinkles or small candies. A really inventive way is to melt marshmallows and use them as a kind of muffin cup.

The ready-baked cake, which itself resembles a muffin, comes in a delicious form. The top of the cake is spiral-shaped and can be easily piped with cream, ultimately creating a wow effect for a huge cupcake. This cake is particularly suitable for a baby's birthday because you can make it hollow and hide a surprise inside.
