You still have a few days left to think about your Halloween decorations. To not only create great effects indoors, but also to surprise passers-by, you can make the windows spooky. However, if you are still lacking inspiration, we will be happy to help you. The following ideas for Halloween window decorations are simple to make, but still look interesting and can also be made last minute.
Make silhouettes from motifs to print out
You can cut out a few motifs from simple black craft paper and then use them as window pictures. You can print out designs and thenuse as a templateto make it easier for you. Then stick the pictures to the window with adhesive tape. You can even create entire scenarios. For example, add gravestones and some ghosts around them for a cemetery. Or how about a (crescent) moon and bat window pictures? Pumpkins, skulls, witch hats and other suitable symbols are of course also suitable.
Especially if you have larger windows, you can use them to create particularly impressive design ideas. Stick an element on each window section to create a whole, large picture.
Halloween window decoration – draw motifs with chalk markers
Instead of cutting out and gluing designs, you can also draw them on the window pane if you have a talent for drawing. Of course, ghosts are the most suitable because of the white color. But if you want, you can also get colored pens and paint a green cauldron, orange pumpkins or drops of blood.
You can also stick a motif on the outside of the window pane and then trace it on the inside with chalk markers or special window paint.
Cobwebs and scary figures on the window
Also from the outside, don't forget to decorate the windows. A great and, above all, really simple Halloween window decoration is artificial spider webs, which you can even stretch across the entire facade. And the figure at the window above in this example also has an extravagantly scary effect. You can even illuminate such a doll discreetly in the evenings so that the spooky factor is retained even in the dark. Such a figure on the window also looks very effective with glass blocks or frosted glass, where only a silhouette will be visible.
Halloween window decorations - curtains made of black tulle or cheesecloth
Indoors, you can make a simple Halloween window decoration by hanging cheesecloth on the windows as curtains. These appear to be tattered and you can also knot them together in some places or even tear them a little. If you use the cloth in white color, you will get the effect of cobwebs. Another idea we would recommend is to dye the cloths dark. This seems even more mystical and as if the once white curtains of an abandoned house had become dusty over time.
Barricade windows for Halloween
No matter whether you use real wooden boards or make ones out of cardboard, this Halloween window decoration is guaranteed to be a highlight in your neighborhood. If you use cardboard, remember to cut the strips jaggedly on the short sides, as if the wooden boards had been broken. Then paint the cardboard strips with brown paint, after which you can imitate the grain with black lines.
If you wish, you can further decorate the boards by adding spider webs and/or spiders to them.
Garland as a Halloween window decoration
Whether made from pumpkins like in the example or with other scary motifs –Garlands will promptly cover the windowsbeautify and look wonderful both inside and out. As with the silhouettes, you can simply cut out designs from black paper and glue them to string. The garlands can be attached vertically like a curtain to the window or classically horizontally.
The version with pumpkins is also quick and easy to make. Cut several strips of orange construction paper and punch holes at both ends, all strips in the same place. Then thread green pipe cleaners through the holes, the strips forming the letter “C”. Tie the pipe cleaner on both sides and then move the paper strips to create a ball shape.
Design a window sill with lights and autumn decorations
Would you rather be chic instead of scary? That is your right.Use the windowsilland put any decorations there. However, a small carved pumpkin (preferably artificial) should not be missing to fit in with the celebration. A vase with a bouquet of grasses is perfect for the height, while a few lanterns, lanterns or fairy lights bring a little light into the darkness so that the Halloween window decoration can stand out and be effective even in the evening hours.
