In the past, wreaths were made from laurel leaves and given as a sign of honor. Today wreaths are mostlyused for decorative purposesand are particularly popular in autumn. To create such a creation, you first need a wreath blank. This is available from flower shops and craft supplies and is made from various materials such as Styrofoam, straw, wicker, wire and pine green. These can then be beautifully decorated for autumn with leaves, flowers, fruits, cones, nuts, rose hips and nuts.

This idea is super simple. You need a 24 cm straw blank, floral or craft wire, autumn leaves and clear varnish spray. Leaves are attached to the wreath blank with the floral wire. The leaves should overlap so that the wreath blank is completely covered and the desired lushness is achieved. Spray the wreath with clear varnish to give it a nice shine.

For a lush version, maple leaves in bright orange, red, yellow as well as warm brown and other earthy tones are best.
