Turning old into new or, in short, upcycling is an increasingly popular trend. Apparently useless objects can be transformed into new things. Recycling crafts are also fun for children and offer lots of great ideas for every occasion. And since we are currently in the run-up to Easter, we have collected a few cool craft ideas for the popular festival in this post. The main material you need for this are old CDs or blank CDs. You can use this to create cute animals, beautiful flowers and insects that are perfect for spring. Take a look at our ideas for crafting with CDs and try them out with the children.
What can you craft in spring?
You may be wondering why exactly CDs? Since USB sticks, memory cards and clouds have existed, hardly anyone has used a CD. Nevertheless, many people have more or less leftover blank CDs or unused CDs at home. But before you throw it away, think about what else could come from it. The unnecessary CDs are wonderfully suitable for creative craft projects with children. You can find a large selection of atmospheric upcycling ideas below!
Make your own flowers
Flowers are one of the most popular spring motifs and are therefore a good idea for Easter crafts. Whether as decoration for the home or simply because it's fun, you can make beautiful flowers with the children. These can then be hung up as wall decorations or inhappy suncatcherstransform.
To turn the CD into a flower, you will need other materials such as colorful paper, cardboard or foam rubber. Cut out the individual petals and then glue them to the CD. There are no limits to creativity.
Make a colorful turtle from a CD
Children love colorful things, which is why this turtle is a great craft idea for spring. To make the craft you will need several colorful buttons (different shapes are welcome), liquid glue and green paper for the head, feet and tail. If you don't have green paper, have the children paint white paper green.
The CD serves as the turtle's shell in this project. First decorate this with the colorful buttons by fixing them with liquid glue. While the glue dries, cut out the other pieces from paper. Finally, stick them on the bottom side of the CD and you're done.
Chicks and bunnies for Easter
And what is Easter without the typical Easter motifs? Of course, the Easter bunny and a few chicks shouldn't be missing. You can also use the old CDs just as a template to get a perfectly round shape. To make the craft harder, stick cardboard or foam rubber on the CD. Craft felt would work just as well.
Make an easy sheep
This cute sheep is really easy to make and offers a good idea for CD crafts for Easter. This project still requires black and white construction paper, scissors, a black marker, glue and googly eyes.
