Crafts with tissue paper for Easter and spring – great ideas for children

Tissue paper is classic for making pompoms. However, there are numerous craft techniques that can be implemented with this soft paper. Here we have put together some great ideas and suggestions for crafting with tissue paper that children can enjoy doing at Easter and spring. Fresh colors and fun spring motifs ensure a good mood!

Use tissue paper for DIY projects

Tissue paper, also known as packing silk, is a wonderfully soft and thin paper that can serve many creative uses. The fine, transparent paper is easy to crumple and is available in all sorts of colors. However, it can also be easily colored and printed. Children can then decorate the classroom or even their own home with these colorful, homemade accessories!

Make suncatchers as window decorations

Due to its slightly transparent structure, the elegant tissue paper is ideal forMaking window decorations. These beautiful mosaic-like window pictures, for example, are called “suncatchers” because when the sun shines, they allow colorful light to shine through and create beautiful plays of light on the window. Butterflies, tulips, ladybugs, birds, Easter bunnies, Easter eggs – there are numerous spring motifs that can be made.

There are different ways to make the sun catchers. You can either stick the selected template on a self-adhesive book film or simply use another transparent material as a base. Cut the tissue paper into mosaic-like pieces and distribute them on the template. The pieces of paper should overlap slightly. Take a second piece of book film, peel off the backing paper and place it on the motif with the adhesive side down. Cut off the excess and you're done!

Puzzle pictures for the little ones

Children aged 2-3 years and up can make puzzle pictures. However, adult help is required when cutting the paper into small pieces and sticking it on. The children are provided with a few pre-printed designs to stick on. The little ones form the pieces of paper into small balls and then stick them onto the picture base. The colorful paper balls create interesting and beautiful effects.

Spring decorations for the home or decorations for the Easter tree

The little decorators can also decorate the Easter tree with homemade pendants and clothespins.

This is how it works:

– First cut the paper into squares. Here three different colors were used for each butterfly.
– Attach the pins with colorful ball heads to the clothespin as antennas. The fluffy pipe cleaners are also a good alternative.
– Place the three sheets of tissue paper on top of each other and attach the clothespin in the middle.
– Finally, draw the eyes and mouth with a felt-tip pen.

Have fun crafting!
