If you get the desire to make something unique at Easter and then showcase the handcrafted work of art in a stylish way, you need creative ideas and inspiration again. Would you also like an effective Easter decoration without difficult, time-consuming painting? Here are a few ideas for decorating the Easter eggs. With the easy-to-use napkin technique (also known as decoupage technique) you can create beautiful Easter eggs.
You need the following materials:
– white, boiled eggs or blown eggs
– Napkins, perhaps with Easter motifs or with motifs that you like best
– Glue for napkin technology, or glue for glass or porcelain
– Painting colors (watercolor or Easter egg colors)
- Paint brush
– Decoupage varnish (high gloss or satin matt)
– thread
- Scissors
You must first clean the eggs and let them dry well. Cut out the desired designs, peel off the top printed layer of the napkin and place the design on the egg.
Use the brush to pick up some glue and apply the glue to the design in gentle strokes (from the inside out). Be careful not to tear the napkin or create wrinkles.
After drying, the glue becomes transparent. For additional effects, you can use paint to paint various details as desired. For the latter you need patience and a steady hand. And last but not least, finish off with decoupage varnish/acrylic varnish. Rinse the brush in water after working.
The decoupage eggs consist of several layers of napkin cutouts glued together. Napkins with spring-like motifs that are not too large are particularly suitable for this. Small flowers, a flower meadow, birds or butterflies are great motifs that can be used to create beautiful eggs for Easter. Many beautiful things can now be made using the napkin technique and practically any object can be easily embellished at home. There are no limits to your imagination. Which motifs you choose for decoration is entirely up to you.
If you want the eggs to have a touch of vintage and shabby chic at Easter, pastel colors and white would be an excellent color choice. Not only light blue, soft pink bring the desired vintage look. Beige, brown and light gray are also a great choice. Various fonts, music notes or newspaper and book paper create a true vintage look. After you are done with the decoupage, you can additionally decorate the Easter eggs with lace or sisal and make them more vintage. If the finished eggs are arranged in an Easter basket, they look like a nostalgic Easter decoration and create a special, great atmosphere.
