As an element of the festive decoration in the run-up to Christmas, it increases the anticipation of the coming celebration. The Advent wreath creates a relaxed, cozy and happy atmosphere with its sparkling candles. You can find a wide range of designs in stores. But if you really want a personal arrangement, then you should do it yourself. In today's article we will explain to you how you can arrange an Advent wreath on a wooden disc. Get inspired and make charming wreaths with a rustic touch.
Do you have a wooden panel that you rearrange every season and don't know what to put on it in winter? Instead of keeping the tree disc in the closet, you can use it as a base for a creative Advent wreath. This idea has always received compliments and we like to try out a new design every year. The idea can be implemented in so many ways that you can make both modern and romantic, playful Advent wreaths. By the way, arrangements with dried flowers are very trendy.
Sheneed a wooden disc, preferably with bark, with a diameter of 60 cm. However, if you don't have such a wooden disc at home, you can also use a round cutting board as a replacement. Take four candlesticks with a skewer and hammer them into the pane. Then insert stick candles into the candle holders. As soon as the candles are firmly attached to the tree disc, you have the basic framework for the Advent wreath.
Our tip: Use LED candles to avoid the risk of fire. Never leave burning and LED candles unattended as there is a risk of fire. Avoid burning candles coming into contact with flammable materials such as dried flowers, pine cones, etc. Make sure the candle holders are stable and the candles are securely attached.
Now it's time to decorate. There are no limits to your imagination. You can choose both natural materials and modern decorations made from Christmas tree decorations. If you decide to use natural materials, then loosely drape the individual branches around the candles on the pane. Or you can make a wreath of dried flowers. It is guaranteed to last longer. In addition, the dried flowers are not damaged by the heat of the candles. However, under no circumstances should hot wax drip onto them, as there is a risk of fire.
Idea with stick candles and natural materials
Making a beautiful Advent wreath is not a difficult task. For the first arrangement you need four white stick candles, a candle holder with a skewer, a tree disc with bark, several pine cones and moss. You still need the so-called candle pens with beeswax to paint the candles. You can apply the colored wax directly from the tube to the candles and paint beautiful Christmas motifs.
Proceed as follows: First, attach the candle holders with a skewer. Then paint the tops of the pine cones with white paint (you can use watercolors) or spray them with fake snow. Paint a Christmas tree on each candle and insert them into the candle holders. Then all that remains is to scatter the moss on the wooden disc and decorate it with the pine cones.
Design a modern Advent wreath on a wooden disc using copper wire
If it's really quick, then you can opt for the next modern DIY idea. All you need are white stick candles, pine cones, the tree disc with bark and copper wire. Attach the candles, place several pine cones in the center and wrap thin wire around the candles. The wire will shimmer attractively and reflect the candlelight.
