Depending on which base, decoration and color palette you choose for your Christmas tree, you can give it a completely individual look.

The necessary materials

Who completelylittle space for Christmas decorationsavailable, usually foregoes a real Christmas tree. This Christmas tree arrangement is a really beautiful, space-saving option and also looks good on the windowsill. The fresh fir branches and other flowers are arranged in so-called floral foam.

Materials required:

waterproof base for the arrangement
Floral foam in a cone shape
fir branches
Rosemary sprigs
fresh roses
Rosehip branches
green thistle branches
small Christmas decorations
Artificial snow (optional)

Step-by-step craft instructions

1. Soak the floral foam in water

First you need to water the floral foam. Take an appropriately sized container filled with water. Place the floral foam on the surface of the water and let it sink to the bottom! The more water the foam absorbs, the deeper it will sink into the water. As soon as the sponge is fully watered, carefully remove it from the water!

2. Cut the floral foam to the appropriate height

Place the floral foam cone on the waterproof surface. Cut off the tip and stick a pine branch on top as a tip.

3. Gradually insert the branches into the floral foam

Remove the small branches at the end and clean the stems. Start inserting the branches into the floral foam. Always work from bottom to top and from large to small! Stick a sprig of rosemary here and there between the fir branches. Rosemary not only looks beautiful, but also has a lovely scent.

4. Insert the roses one at a time

Remove the leaves and shorten the stems of the roses. Start at the base of the Christmas tree and insert the roses between the pine greenery. Make sure the roses are evenly distributed across the Christmas tree!

5. Add the rose hips and thistles

Now integrate the rose hips and then the thistles evenly into the Christmas tree arrangement. Work from bottom to top again.

6. Continue decorating the Christmas tree

Add small Christmas decorations like Christmas balls and sprinkle the Christmas tree with a little fake snow.

Since this tree is actually a “flower arrangement,” you can justfresh cut flowersUse as the main decorative element of your choice. They stay fresh in the floral foam for at least two weeks. Gypsophila and heather in white look like snowflakes.

Here is another beautiful example of a Christmas tree arrangement in a large bird's nest. White heather twigs, gypsophila and pink pepper berries harmonize perfectly with the fir green. The finishing touch is the decorative bird figurine that sits on the edge of the nest!

Tie the Christmas tree

You can also make this miniature Christmas tree with a pointed hat out of fir greenery and decorate it with homemade decorations made from white modeling clay. Its natural pine aroma will delight you and your loved ones and can be a wonderful Christmas gift.

You will need the following materials:

Flower pot, bucket or other container
Sand/potting soil
Conifer branches
Hot glue
green thread
garland
air-hardening modeling clay
Star template
Cuttermesser

1. Fill the bucket with sand.

2. Insert the pine branches vertically into the sand.

In order for pine branches to stay fresh and green for longer, they usually need water. So you can consider adding floral foam to the bucket instead of sand. Find out what other methods there are for preserving fir branches.

3. Now wrap the branches tightly with the green thread and form a point.

4. If desired, you can glue smaller pine branches around the tree to give the “bottom” more volume. Their tips should point downwards or outwards.

5. Now roll out a piece of modeling clay. Place the star template on the rolled out modeling clay and cut along the lines with a craft knife. Remove the excess and form balls of different sizes. Using your fingers, smooth the ends of the stars and let them dry according to the time specified by the manufacturer.

6. Once the stars and balls are dry, glue them to the Christmas tree using the hot glue gun.

7. A chain of lights makes the Christmas tree made of fir branches shine beautifully!
