When do you plant ornamental garlic?
Ornamental garlic is usually planted in autumn. Although the allium bulbs are remarkably resilient during the dormant phase and get through the winter well, they should be planted a few weeks before the ground freezes. Once planted, their roots will form and you can expect beautiful balls of flowers in late spring or early summer. Avoid planting in cold or wet conditions as the bulbs may rot.
