Discreet glazing of the terrace of an extension with blue glass

We would like to introduce you to an original idea for glazing a small terrace, implemented by the architect Ting YU of the Wutopia Lab company in China. This is an extension with a small terrace that was built illegally by the former owner of the house. The local authorities allowed the new owners to keep this annex. However, they were not allowed to build new ones or replace the old ones with new ones. Once something is torn down, it stays torn down. So the architect mentioned above came up with a special idea. Glazing the terrace after he painted the building black gave it a particularly effective look. The reason for this is the shape of the glass.

The glazing on the terrace is purely decorative. The two round openings overlap and this is exactly where the glass was inserted, for which a blue color was chosen. The resulting facade is reminiscent of the third eye, which in Chinese legend represents a supernatural talent and cannot be seen by other people. When the sun shines through the blue glass, the color is reflected onto the space in front of it. And at exactly this point another interesting idea from the architect comes to mind.

The architect also worked on the paving stones. Since some of them were missing, he decided not to replace some of them or to replace all the paving stones with new ones. Instead, he filled the gap with grass to create a particularly interesting pattern. All in all, an extremely interesting courtyard was created in which broken things are beautifully concealed and forbidden things are put to practical use.
