Creative therapy ideas: Perceiving feelings
Many people find it difficult to recognize their own feelings in everyday life and learn to deal with them. The next exercise is intended to help participants better understand their own emotions. If you think that feelings are very complicated, you are wrong. Surprisingly, our everyday life revolves around four feelings: joy, fear, sadness and anger. This is where the intuitive painting method proves to be very helpful. Participants should first draw a picture or symbol for each feeling. After that, you should observe two feelings every week: the first should be familiar to the participant and the second should be rather foreign to him. It's worth writing down every day if and when you had to deal with the two feelings and remembering the exact situation.
A trick also helps you learn to recognize your own emotions and improve your depressive mood. We will explain what you should paint in these cases. It's less about the end result and more about the feeling.
