Make your bed comfortable with these simple professional tips: This will make it nice and cozy in the bedroom

One of the first things you notice in a hotel room is undoubtedly the beautifully made bed. So comfortable and inviting and stylish too! Would you also like to achieve this look in your bedroom? This is not difficult at all, as we will prove to you. With our tips and ideas you can make the bed comfortable like a pro and bring the feeling of vacation into your own four walls!

Layering not just in fashion!

You may have already heard about this trend when it comes to fashion. It means combining multiple layers. And that's for ours tooPerfect bedroom bedif you want to make the bed comfortable. At least three layers ensure a stylish look:

  1. bedsheets
  2. Blanket and pillow
  3. Bedspread or blankets as a finishing touch

With the bedspread in particular, you can adapt the bed to the bedroom decor and create a uniform look even if the bed linen doesn't really fit in with the rest - it ends up being covered up.

It is also best to adapt covers to the season. Thick, fluffy models would look a bit strange and not particularly inviting in summer. Instead, muslin and linen are very popular and at the same time look chic and airy. Cashmere and knitwear, as well as teddy fabrics, radiate warmth.

You don't necessarily have to put a thin throw over the bed, as the name suggests. You can also fold it into a narrow strip and place it over the foot end to achieve a decorative effect. You can also do this with a simple blanket.

When making your bed, proceed in the following order (whether you use a mono blanket or make the bed with two blankets):

  • Tighten the sheet if necessary. If youUse fitted sheets, this step will be unnecessary. But normal bed sheets tend to get messed up.
  • If you are using a thin blanket, throw it over the sheet so that it covers the entire bed. Alternatively, you can also fold it down at the headboard. Both variants are also suitable if you make the bed nice with two blankets.
  • Place the pillows - either directly on the duvet or, if you have folded them down, in the free area between the headboard and the ceiling.
  • If necessary, add additional layers - for example, a cozy blanket that lies casually over the bed.

Make your bed comfortable with plenty of pillows

You can also layer the pillows to make the bed comfortable. A variety of them automatically make the bed look cozy. Of course, this primarily includes large pillows, often even oversized. And no, you don't have to sleep on them if that's not comfortable enough for you. They can only serve as decoration and stand in the background. In front of it, lean on a few smaller pillows, including the sleeping pillows. You can add a few accents with a few smaller decorative pillows in matching colors.

As far as the number is concerned, you are free to choose. But there should be at least three to create a harmonious overall picture. Otherwise, it's up to you and your desire to take these pillows down every evening and arrange them back on the bed in the morning. Accent pillows with an elongated shape are also very popular. Professionals like to do it in the following way:

  • Single bed– a large pillow and a smaller bolster pillow
  • Classic double bed– two large cushions, two smaller cushion cushions and a third smaller, square one
  • Kingsize-Bett– Three large cushions, two square decorative cushions, two large rectangular ones and one bolster cushion

What about the colors?

The sheet

Professionals usually opt for classic white sheets. This is not just because they appear bright and friendly and therefore relaxing. Its neutral color also combines beautifully with any other colors you may choose for bedding. Another plus point that you shouldn't underestimate: especially if there is a lot of color in the room, white sheets offer a good balance on which the eye can rest, so to speak.

The pillows

The pillowcases should of course match the duvet if you want to make your bed visually comfortable. If you have chosen the variant with many pillows, including large decorative pillows, it is best to choose to match them to the blanket. The smaller ones that you sleep on could then be white (or another arbitrary but suitable color).

Make your bed comfortable – don’t forget what’s around it!

Don't just focus on the bed itself, but also pay attention to what's around it. You can invest as much time and money into styling the bed linen as you want. If the bedside table is messy or just boring, the overall look will be disturbed. So breathe life into the surroundings too: put a book on the cupboard (of course it's even better if you actually read it) or put up a night light or a picture. Even the smallest detail can make a big difference! Don't forget the wall behind the bed!
