So what could we do about color residues on our new T-shirt? The best way to be nicely attentive is, of course, so that it doesn't get that far. Check the label first
The care label sewn in the clothing, which we often cut off, always contains specific instructions on the chemicals we should not treat the clothing. Our knitting sweaters always require special care and with colored clothes we are usually not allowed to use chlorine bleach. So before trying some of the following methods, check the label first - after all, you don't want to ruin your new shirt, right? If in doubt, we would simply recommend that you go to chemical cleaning you trust.
Can you remove blonde hair color from clothes?
Blonde hair in all conceivable nuances is simply beautiful - that's certain. You wanted to dye your hair at home yourself, but have forgotten to put on an old cloth and now you see the ugly stain on your shirt? The bleach contained in the bleaching actually pull the color out of the fabric and what you see on your clothing is not a stain in the actual sense. Rather, the color was pulled out and unfortunately they cannot undo that. With a white garment, you could perhaps take a chlorine bleach against the stain. Or how about coloring the T-shirt, for example, in pink or light blue for summer?
Remove dark hair color out of clothes: This is how you can do it!
Different hair colors usually require different methods. But regardless of whether black, brown or red hair color you want to get from clothes, you always have to treat the stain as soon as possible. And so they get dark hair color out of their clothes:
- Rinse the stain immediately with cold water or alcohol to remove the excess color residues.
- Next, apply some liquid detergent to the stained area and scrub with a toothbrush for 5-6 minutes.
- Then soak the garment into a mixture of water and detergent for at least 8 hours.
- So that you can remove dried hair color from clothing, you should perhaps repeat the above step 2-3 times in total.
So red hair color from clothes can be removed
Red hair has a special place in our hearts - and also on our clothes. It is more difficult to get red hair color out of clothes, but not impossible! And so they succeed:
You will need this for this:
- Dishwasher
- Ammonia
- Distilled white vinegar or vinegar essence
- Water
Remove red hair color from clothing:
- Darker hair colors, such as red, brown and black, tend to darken a little over time. It is therefore advisable to wipe the stain away with lukewarm water as quickly as possible.
- Next, prepare a solution of 1 liter of water, 1 teaspoon of dishwasher and 1 tablespoon of ammonia and soak the stained area for 15-20 minutes.
- Scrub the stain with a toothbrush slightly and soak again for 10 minutes.
- Mix 1 liter of lukewarm water and 50 ml vinegar in a separate bucket and soak the stained area for 30 minutes.
- Finally, wash the garment in the washing machine as usual and repeat the above process again if necessary.
Get hair color made of clothes with hairspray
That may sound strange at first glance, but trust us in this matter! Hairspray is actually one of the most effective and cheapest ways to remove hair color from clothing. However, this trick only works withvery fresh spots. Simply spray the stained area with plenty of hairspray, let it take effect for 2-3 minutes and then wipe it off with a cloth. If necessary, repeat the process 1-2 times.
Baking powder or washing-soda
Would you like to remove dried hair color from clothing? Then they would be in good hands with baking powder or washing-soda. To do this, soak the garment in lukewarm water and then sprinkle with plenty of baking powder. Let it take effect for at least 30 minutes and then wash in the washing machine as usual. With this method, however, some caution is required. Since the baking powder and washing-soda bleach, they are unsuitable for sensitive fabrics.
Hair color made of clothes with nail polish remover
Nail polish remover is another effective home remedy with which you can remove hair color out of clothing. Here, however, you should be a little more careful, because some fabrics do not tolerate the nail polish remover and dissolve. So use it best if you have to remove hair color from jeans, for example. Since the nail polish remover also has bleaching properties, it would be advisable to test it in an unobtrusive area before use. Did he pass the test? Then apply plenty of it onto a cotton pad and carefully dab the stain with it. Don't rub but! The color should be loosened after a few minutes and can be removed with a cloth.
