Super fudgy, chocolaty and moist – these banana brownies can easily compete with the original, but are much healthier. No flour, no sugar and no dairy products – the recipe is vegan and gluten-free, making it perfect for a healthy breakfast to lose weight!

Ingredients for 10 pieces

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 50 grams of cocoa powder
  • 120 grams of peanut butter

preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and line a square baking pan with baking paper.
  • Place the bananas in a bowl and mash well with a fork.
  • Add peanut butter and stir until smooth.
  • Add cocoa powder and mix into a smooth dough.
  • Spread the dough evenly into the baking pan and bake for 25-28 minutes.
  • Allow to cool completely to room temperature and voilà - your healthy banana brownies made from 3 ingredients are ready.

  • Always use very ripe bananas - the riper they are, the better.
  • Mash the bananas until you get a smooth mixture with no lumps. Alternatively, you could do this in the blender.
  • Always use smooth peanut butter with no added sugar.
  • Do not bake the brownies for too long, otherwise they will become too dry and inedible.

For the basic banana brownies recipe you only need 3 ingredients. But that doesn't mean you can't add extras of your choice. Here are a few variations that would also taste quite good.

  • If you have a peanut or tree nut allergy, replace the peanut butter with sunflower butter or tahini.
  • If you like it even more chocolaty, you can add some chopped chocolate to the dough.
  • Chopped nuts also add a crunchy touch.
  • To make protein brownies, replace half of the cocoa powder with protein powder and add 1-2 tablespoons of milk to the batter.
  • With spring just around the corner, you could spice up the brownies with strawberries.
