However, that doesn't mean that the app's many brilliant tips and techniques are all useful. In fact, you should be careful when adopting cleaning tips from social media. Before you implement them, you should consider whether they are suitable for your own apartment. Read on and discover if the hack works!
The truth? Even though this hack didn't seem to make much of a difference in the video, we were really impressed with how effective it was! We had our doubts about the cleaning power of a saucepan lid. But in combination with the damp tea towel it offers the ideal pressure on the sofa. It's not a bad thing if you have to work a little bit.
We have a comfy sofa in our office common room - so it was a good idea to try this trick! After a few passes, all stains were removed from our couch, and the best part is that the detergent leaves a wonderful scent. However, the sofa remained damp for a few hours, so it's best to try it first thing in the morning or at least many hours before you plan to relax on the couch. We think this is the best option if you want to sparkle up your couch quickly and inexpensively.
What you need
- Tea Towel (or Hand Towel): Make sure the tea towel is clean and structured to best absorb the liquid.
- A small pot lid with a handle
- 1 detergent tab
- 1 container
- Hot water

Step-by-step instructions
- First, fill a basin or bowl halfway with hot water.
- Dissolve a detergent tab by throwing it in. To speed up the process, stir them thoroughly with a spoon.
- Rinse your towel well after dipping it in the water.
- Place the wet towel on a flat surface and place the pot lid in the center.
- To secure the lid, fold in the corners and tie them.
- The rolled up handle of the lid can be used for scrubbing upholstered furniture such as sofas, chairs, carpets, etc.
- Allow your couch to dry completely. Place them in direct sunlight if possible.
