Designing ceilings with plywood panels – idea for a modern house design

One of the special features of this house is that it was built in the middle of a mountain. At the same time, it is surrounded by lush plants and creates a natural atmosphere that does not disturb the view of the sea. In order to adapt to the slope, several levels were created. The use of a lot of wood also adapts to the natural environment. For this purpose, not only the facades and the roof were covered with wood. Wood and plywood panels are also used as materials for designing ceilings and other interior elements. You can take a closer look at the stunning property in the gallery below.

Architectural adaptations to the hillside location

The house was built by Parsonson Architects in 2016. It is located in New Zealand and more specifically Marlborough. The living space extends to 500 square meters and consists of several bedrooms, a modern kitchen, a living room, bathroom and many other areas. The outdoor area is also spacious despite the hillside location. Balconies extend over several levels and an inner courtyard is also created.

The interiors are characterized by a modern furnishing style. The furniture in the living room and kitchen, as well as the walls, are white, creating a pleasant contrast to the floors andWooden ceilings. This combination creates a bright and friendly ambience, which is even enhanced by the large window fronts. The large windows also guarantee a view of the ocean and mountains and a feeling of living close to nature.

As already mentioned, plywood panels were used to create the ceiling. With your help, sloping ceilings were designed, which give the interior structure and also make it appear more comfortable. Green accents such as accent walls and sofa cushions represent the color of the green landscape and in this way bring the flair of the plants inside.
