The interior designers Maxim Doschinsky and Pavel Voitov fromZOOI Interior Studiorecently completed the design of a large apartment in Kyiv, Ukraine. Three smaller apartments were combined into one large apartment for a young family and their guests. When designing the interior, the interior designers primarily relied on wood and warm colors, which create a cozy, inviting ambience. The furnishing style is modern and characterized by clear lines and shapes.
The clients' brief was for a spacious, cozy apartment that offers enough space for them and their guests. By merging the separate apartments, a large apartment was created with an open living room with dining area and kitchen, bedroom and children's room with their own bathrooms and two guest rooms.
Living room, dining room and kitchen all share the same open space. This modern living concept is especially forDesigner apartmentstypical and has enjoyed increasing popularity in recent years. The living area is long and wide, with a white partition visually separating it from the dining room. In this room, wood and warm colors are the focus and create a homely atmosphere.
In the living area, the sofas face the television and a window at the end of the room provides plenty of natural light. Textiles in brown and beige harmonize perfectly with the wooden floor and give the room warmth. The warm colors are paired with elements in white and gray, which creates a beautiful overall picture in the interior. The designers transformed the living room wall into a large closet with handleless cabinet doors. This means there is plenty of storage space available without cluttering up the room with visible cupboards and shelves.
Behind the living room is the dining area. A minimalist black dining table accents the white walls, while a window offers city views.
The dining table is positioned under a chandelier with an original design and offers enough space for 8 people. In the evening, the residents' privacy is guaranteed by opaque brown curtains.
Opposite the dining area and the living room is the kitchen. The black cabinets and countertops contrast with the wood, while brass accents add a touch of glamour.
In this area, the warm appearance of wood is highlighted even better by the black color. All cupboards have no handlesand with a matt surface, which adds a stylish touch to the interior design.
Just like in the living room, the walls in the hallway have been transformed into space-saving cupboards. The cupboard doors are black and glossy and merge into a wooden wall.
In the sleeping area, the bed has a simple wooden background with an upholstered headboard, while see-through glass offers a view of the en suite bathroom. The interior designers also chose wood and warm colors in this room, which contrast with the black furnishings.
Metal bedside tables and industrial-look pendant lights add a modern touch to the master bedroom. There is no door between the room and the bathroom, but you walk seamlessly from one area to the other.
In the bathroom, the black wall behind the sinks harmonizes with the dark cupboards in the bedroom, while the wooden shelf opposite is part of the headboard behind the bed.
The bathroom opens onto an area with white marble tiles covering the walls and floor. The freestanding bathtub sits in front of the window, with a small work area created right next to it.
Behind the bathtub there is a walk-in shower without a glass partition. In this bathroom, marble plays the main role and is used in the form of large tiles both on the floor and as wall coverings.
The children's room is divided into two areas. The first is the sleeping area, decorated with a “tiny house” theme. Wood and warm colors characterize the interior in this girls' room, where the natural effect of the wood is in perfect harmony with the pink wall color.
A wide wooden windowsill creates a place to sit and look out the floor-to-ceiling window. The heating is also located under the wooden bench, which has been successfully concealed so as not to intrude on the modern interior design.
The second area of the children's room is a play area with the same theme – “little house”. A floating desk creates a space to study while aBubble hanging chairinvites you to read.
Another beautiful element of the furnishings in the children's room is the pendant light in the learning area. It resembles a white cloud floating above the room.
The children's room also has its own bathroom, where the theme of the room reappears in the form of colored glass panels on the walls.
Wood and warm colors also characterize the design of the guest rooms. In these rooms, existing wall niches are designed interestingly - in the first as a bed headboard and in the second as a small, separate work area.
