Retro furniture for an interior with nostalgic charm

DS House is an attractive single-family home in Sao Paolo in Brazil, for which an effective retro interior was chosen. The design for this, which was implemented and completed in 2015, comes from Studio Arthur Casa. We would like to offer you this impressive house design with furnishingsRetro furnitureimagine both from the inside and outside.

The house with retroFurnitureis proof that every fad returns over time. In combination with modern features, the newly used pieces of furniture create a very special charm that creates a nostalgic atmosphere.

Comfortable seating areas

Modern pieces of furniture can be found everywhere in the house. The retro living room is decorated with a vintage sofa and armchairs. Vintage chairs provide seating comfort in the dining area. In addition to various textiles, these pieces of furniture are also made of brown leather, among other things. An attractive glass side table is used to display lamps.

Retro flair in the living area

The retro design furniture is a combination of different materials. In addition to the leather and textile already mentioned, a lot of wood is also used, but also noble natural stone in the form of marble. The vintage furniture, but also the room design in general, consists of neutral and harmoniously combined earth tones such as brown, beige, white or khaki.

Dining area with a simple design

Different seating areas have been set up in the house to help you relax. The living room is one of the rooms with a comfortable lounge. The transition between the retro living room and dining area has a smaller seating area with chairs and armchairs, as well as a stone and glass coffee table, perfect for enjoying an afternoon coffee, reading or entertaining. The furniture there consists mainly of light colors.

TV room with retro pictures

Other attractive retro living ideas are also used for decoration. The TV room, for example, has an effective accent wall made of retro pictures in black and white. The sideboard with integrated desk has a modern design, but its color matches perfectly with the designs of the furniture.

Stairs made of wooden beams

A decorative and at the same time useful use of unfinished wood can be found in the hallway. A unique staircase was built there from beams. The dark color contrasts with the light natural stone floor and the white walls. A contrast in terms of style is achieved by using a modern railing.

Modern and retro elements

The wooden beams serve as support for the steps. These impress with their ultra-thin design. This idea ensures that the staircase does not appear too bulky and represents the modern element in this design. The result is a stylish staircase that is rustic and modern at the same time.

Vertical garden

Also worth mentioning is the lushly planted vertical garden, which was chosen to create the wall in the garden. It adorns not only the entrance area, but the entire wall along the swimming pool. Tropical plants that are typical of this climate zone were used. The vertical garden is a great alternative to the usual garden, especially on this property where there is no space for lawns.

Window front

The window front in the living room with retro furniture can be opened completely and thus offers perfect access to the large terrace with a wooden pool area. The pool is modern and long and is therefore ideal for swimming. The pool lighting also creates a pleasant atmosphere.

Attractive terrace design

In addition to the pool area with modern retro loungers, the dining area on the terrace also guarantees perfect relaxation. This consists of a dining table with benches, which are modern and covered, as well as a kitchen island with a work surface and sink. The interaction of wood and natural stone creates a harmonious environment.

Wooden facade

The fact that wood plays a major role in the design of the retro house can be seen from the facade. Since wooden wall paneling is common for vintage design, it was also chosen for the house facade. This also has an attractive, wavy shape and attracts everyone's attention.
